Anyone ever try using food grade silica gel desiccant to dry cartos after washing them?

Something like:
Desiccant

Thanks.

Silica gel is irritating to the respiratory tract, may cause irritation of the digestive tract, and dust from the beads may cause irritation to the skin and eyes, so precautions should be taken. Some of the beads may be doped with a moisture indicator, such as cobalt(II) chloride, which is toxic and may be carcinogenic. Cobalt (II) chloride is deep blue when dry (anhydrous) and pink when moist (hydrated).
Crystalline silica dust can cause silicosis but synthetic amorphous silica gel is non-friable, and so does not cause silicosis.

The stuff I picked up is designed to be used specifically with food. Not an issue for me.

Turns out that for me the easiest way is kind of old fashioned -- I tossed them into a small mesh bag, let them do a cycle in the dryer :) It's heat, but not too hot, plus air. Worked quite nicely.

Afterwards, the clean, dry, cartos are tossed in a small plastic box with the desiccant pack, for storage until I need them.

(the warehouse that sells them is only 20 minutes from home, so I picked one up after work rather than paying S&H)
