What kind of of silica wick is best for taste and vapor production? I've seen that there is mesh, rope, and maybe some others, and I read that one kind is better than the others due to wicking properties. Also, what millimeter size would fit through a mini PT2 coil? 2 mm?

I can say that I didn't like the original silica wicks that came with my mini-PT2's. I have since always used cotton wicks. They wick faster than silica IMO so I don't get dry hits like I did with the silica. Also, I never run out and sizing is easy. You roll it in your hand and feed it in through the coil, trim, prime it and done.
Rewicking with cotton has been more trouble than it's worth for me, I can never get it right, and I always displace the coil. I'm hoping silica will be easier to thread through the coil, and when the wick gunks up I can pull it out, dry burn the coil, and put in a new wick. I would just like to figure out the difference between rope, mesh, etc. Surprised to see no replies though.
If you so into using the silica instead of the cotton. Get yourself a bead threader and untwist the silica or ekowool into separate strands, then feed it through the coil using the bed threader. I use a bead threader for inserting my cotton and unbraided ekowool into my protank builds.
