Hey,

So I am currently 'borrowing' a silver bullet while my fellow ECF'er is 'borrowing' my MrPuffer :2cool:

When he was putting together the PV to ship he'd asked me if I wanted 6v or 3.7v, I had already tried 3.7 and my PT is 5v so I figured I'd give 6 a try.

For the first few days I was totally loving it. Now, for some reason.. I find it is not only sucking down juice quicker than I can put it in there, but it is also starting to have a metalic taste to it. I know it's not the atty because the same atty tastes great on the 5v PT.

I had already told the fellow ECF'er that I was interested in buying it outright.. that is trading him the puffer on a perm. basis and paying the difference.

But all of a sudden I find I am not liking the 6v vape anymore and I have just been using the PT. This is real depressing, because I have spent so long just searching for that perfect mod and along came this silver bullet. It's gorgeous, shiny, sturdy, and reliable. The switch is squishy and never mis-fires. I really do love this thing.. so here is the question...

Is there any battery set-up for the silver bullet that will give me 5v? *crosses fingers and hopes for a yes*

Thanks

There is no battery combination that will give you 5 volt that I know of. When vaping at 6 volt, or even 5 volt, you will run through juice faster. The trick I have found is to keep you atty wet at all times, the first taste of metallic means you need to get more juice in the atty. Are you dripping the juice and what atty are you using? I assume a 510 as I think that's what the Silver Bullet is fitted for unless you are using an adapter. Once I started high volt, for almost a year now, I quickly changed to dripping. Some people complain about the process of getting out the juice and dripping into the atty, I look at it as no more hassle than getting out a cigarette and lighting it up. If you drip I would defiantly get a drip tip to just drip through the tip without removing a tip all the time. When you start using high volt there is a slight learning curve you need to work through just like you did when you started vaping. I think if you drip and add juice every time you start to get that "dry atty" taste you will find that 6 volt is actually quite pleasant.

Happy vaping, Elapid---<

Change you Atty first off to a new one and try vaping it again, I say this for a reason as well. Also throw on a Carto, remove the plastic cap and punch a hole in the condom and use it as a new cap and drip once in a while into the carto to keep fresh and tell me what you think of that vape, (hope you have a carto & an extra HV Atty) then PM me what you find out trying these two steps. I have 2 Silver Bullets and also the new OMERGA as well as a bunch of GG Mods and some others, I just want your opinion on both if your willing to do it.???

I vape at 6V, but if I hold the button down steady, the atty gets too hot and tastes bad. Try tapping the button on and off a few times while you are drawing on it. It works especially well if you direct-inhale, because the additional airflow really helps to cool things down.

If you try this a few times while tail-piping, you will get a better idea of how temp effects flavor. Your lips are really sensitive to temp changes. Right after it starts to get un comfortably hot, it starts tasting bad (to me).

The non copper spring lets u vape at 5v.

I too found the Copper Spring at 6V is just too much, it's great at 3.7. The non-copper spring brings the voltage/resistance down just a tad. When I ordered the copper spring, Rob at AltSmokes suggested I keep the old one because he was sure I would find a use for it <wink, wink, nod, nod>.
And yes, it does goes through the juice at 6V! And will burn a carto real quick if you arn't paying attention.
You could also try a HV Atty on it to bring it closer to 5V and to lengthen the battery life a tad.
