Well that's pretty much what us DIY'ers do, unless I've not understood the question :)

We get a nic base (either % of PG and VG or 100% one or the other) and add flavoring.

It's not as simple if you get higher mg nic base such as 100mg nic which would be very dangerous to inhale so you have to cut it down into a managable mg level such as 12mg or 24 or whatever you prefer.

I vape 30mg juice and make my own. I typically have a 60mg 60% PG/40% VG base and with the use of some simple math or a juice calculator I can cut that by 1/2 and offset for any flavorings I use which come in PG.

So a simple 1 flavor, 10% mix would be (using my values above and what I use):

5ml of Nic Base (60mg 60/40 mix)
2ml of PG
2ml of VG
1ml of Flavor @ 10% (100% PG based)

This gives me 10ml of 30mg nic juice with 10% single flavor mix. If you add second and third flavorings or any EM Sweetener you have to offset these amounts to adjust the ratios.

So a 3 flavor mix, at various % of flavor would be:

5ml of Nic Base (60mg 60/40 mix)
1.3ml of PG
2ml of VG
1ml of Flavor @ 10% (100% PG based)
.5ml of Flavor @ 5% (100% PG based)
.2ml of Flavor @ 2% (100% PG based)

This will yield a 10ml of 30mg nic juice with 3 flavors at varying ratios to taste.

Not sure if that answers but essentially that's what we do in DIY. We simple get the base materials and mix them using ratios to find both the correct flavor profile % as well the required nic mg level.

Whoe there. Nic juice can or could be confused as different things to different people, and can make you verry sick or even kill you if you don't understand the whole principal of making e juice. This can be realy dangerouse if you dont understand some things.

1st off, nic liquid is not vapable on its own. Nic liquid comes as concentrated liquid niccotine, that must be reduced by "vapable" liquid.
-Nic liquid is verry strong stuff, and simply dropping some on your hands could make you quite sick.
-You need a calculating "mixing" converter to help you mathmaticaly get the exact right amount of all ingredints.

Vapable liquid
-This is most often a combination of polly glycol (PG) vegetable glycerin (vg) and flavoring.
-PG is used medicaly and is concidered safe to vape. It alows the nic to be vaped from liquid state to vapor state. It is a thin liquid
and has very little vapor production
-VG is also concidered "natural" and safe to vape and also alows for the nic to be vaped. VG is however thick and has a slight taste to it.
VG produces thick robust vapor. It is Thick and does not flow well and there for used most often in small amounts (20%) in
conjuction with PG.
-Flavoring cannot just be any old flavor you have around. Some flavors from some brands have many issues. They may have
ingredients that you simply should never vape. Or possibly they will gunk up and kill your atty. You need proper flavoring.

There are many threads here on DIY, but please become very informed befor trying it yourself. DIY is realy cool once you get things straight.

If you really want to keep it simple and you don't mind if your mg isn't exactly 24 or 18 or 12 mg, buy the nic mg you like and add flavors. This is the simplest way to get started.

Example:

18 mg nic base at 70/30 pg/vg
10% flavor

equals

16.2 mg e juice.

The pg/vg ratio probably changes to have a bit more pg since many flavors are pg based. So nowpmaybe you have 75/25 pg/vg

Definitely read the stickies and do a little homework:)

DIY can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it. The simplest way:
Buy nicotine juice close to the strength and PG/VG ratio that you really like to vape.
Put 4ml or so in a 5ml bottle and start adding flavoring a drop at a time. Keep track and keep records.
Taste it occasionally and stop when it tastes good,
Voila.. you are done!

Nic liquid can be or can be not a very strong stuff. If you buy 100mg/ml this is strong, indeed. If you buy 18 mg/ml nic liquid it is not more dangerous than flavored e-liquid and is completely vapable by itself. Some people even prefer unflavored liquids.

I loaded up some mini vivi's today with unflavored for the first time. Been having unsatisfying results DIYing so I thought I would see what I am starting with. To me in a 70PG 30VG mix it seems like PG has a distinct flavor I do not care for. On the other hand 40PG 60VG tastes pretty good to me all by itself. Probably a good idea for anyone DIYing to try this and see what you are starting with before flavorings. I actually like it so much I'll keep a loaded tank of it around from now on.

The only downside I see is that you don't know exact recipes good e-liquid manufacturers use for their brand liquids.

Talking to some vendors, realize that they DIYed precisely because they weren't happy with the recipes out there.

And made their own, which turned out better. :)

No downside, if you can vape simple --- and be happy ----- without a whole big recipe at the beginning.

I have a friend who has never bought vendor juice. He like strawberries, so he got some strawberry flavoring and some nic solution and has been vaping away happily, and VERY CHEAPLY, for 3 years now. He has never had anything else, and has no desire to bother.

Many vapers even just vape unflavored pg or vg with nic in it.

Others live for vape mail, trying new juice, having a huge arsenal.

Others love the hobby of creating DIY.

You can do this any way you want.

Also IMHO unflavored liquids will prolong lifespan of cartomizers as flavoring is a primary source of non vaporizable ingredients which convert to the gunk on the coil.
