Need some input (and hopefully some questions answered). I currently have a Bolt with 18650's that I take to work with me. I also have a K100 in route. These will be my everyday take with me to work mods. I generally use Kanger T3's, because my nicer clearomizers stay at home. I don't modify anything or try to use anything fancy. I've always been into the KISS concept. My essentials are rugged/reliable/simple. Hopefully longevity as well.....

So here is why I am coming to the experts:
Bearing in mind what I am looking for, what is your overall opinion of the Bolt and K100?
If I use protected batteries do I really need a safety fuse to make it completely safe?
Someone advised me to rotate batteries so I don't unintionally use one more than any other, is that really necessary?

My at-home mod is an SVD which I love, and I have an MVP in route for when I am out and about and want something smaller. However, due to my work environment, neither one of these are going to work with me. Hence the Bolt and the Mod. I imagine picking up more Mods in the future too as this has become a huge hobby for me :)

Thank you in advance for any help, advice or assistance you guys can give me. I am a huge fan of this forum.

nope

nope, the only advantage here would be longevity if you use one battery 5 days a week and the other 2 days. later on the more used battery will show aging first, other then that rotating batteries just helps them all last longer.

they do have a lifespan and after so many charges you can see the charge isnt as strong. but we are talking 6-8 months maybe even a year from now using the same battery all the time.

Cant really get any simpler then something like a mechanical, and except for the wire in the switch the bolt is pretty rugged. as far as cost. for the price of the 2 of them it sure isnt heart crushing should you break them somehow.

I love my provari but for work i take my mech and a couple spare batteries, nothing to fail so nothing to worry about in my opinion.

I have both. The k100 is solid, but I did drop it once and knock the top cap loose. I was able to push it against a wall and get it back into place and still works fine. It is built nice and solid, wouldn't worry to much about it at all at work.

The bolt is a cool little mod although I wouldn't take it to work. Don't know what kind of work you do but I am a chef for a catering company and for some reason I just don't think the bolt would hold up to being banged around in the kitchen. I really think it is mostly in my head as I have no reason to think it wouldn't but I like the bolt for going out, not work.

That is my opinion of the two but my absolute favorite work mod now is the vmod. Bought it on a whim and love the thing. Two 14500's last me all day with a full bottle of juice. Little fiddly to get going but after a day or two it is no problem. It has replaced my twists I used at work all together. I know it wasn't asked but since collecting mods might be a hobby for you anyway... :)

Well thank you for bringing yet another Mod on my hobby horizon ;) Since you have both, between the 2 (Bolt and K100) which would you say is superior in terms of rugged reliability and overall performance?

Just picked up the magneto as my first mod. It's very solid with 18650 in. If you tighten it down there is no play in it (like said in Todd's review). The magnetic switch is smooth and no spring to wear out. It's all stainless and rock solid. Running Panasonic cgr18650 and the vape was consistent from 4pm yesterday until noon today with way more than normal vaping (New toy). It's only $40.

I would say K100 for all of it. I think it's sturdier and performs better. Both are good, K100 wins though.
