Newb here as well. I would think dual coils are better but wouldn't I go through a lot more juice?

They do--you're using two coils at the same time, so the surface area is greater. OTOH, due to increased vapor production, I tend to take shorter drags with my dual coils, and I vape less, so there. :D YMMV.

I have not noticed a difference in dual coils, I think it is a marketing scheme by the manufacturers to keep people from rebuilding them. My single coils seem to hit better in my evod tanks as compared to my dual coil aerotank. Maybe I am just becoming cynical in my older age....

Are you using correct wattage for with your dual coils. I have used both, eVods and Aerotanks, and there is no doubt in my mind that the latter produce more vapor and hit harder--they also come with air control base so you can really fine tune your vape. But dual coil atties require more wattage--a 1.8Ω dual coil atty consists of two 3.6Ω coils.

I definitely have lots to learn lol, now I see why everybody calls vaping a hobby lol. It's not big around here so glad to be on ECF & have opinions & help!

You'll be a pro in no time flat. It looks scary at the beginning, but it really isn't. Once you get a good setup and a few juices that you like, you'll be on your way to vaping bliss!

Good luck! And if you have any questions, just ask! Plenty of good people here willing to help! :)

I have tried with the voltage as high as 4.8 with my aerotank, starts to taste burnt. I find 3.8 v is my sweet spot with most juices. So did I waste my money on spinners? I rarely have to go above 3.8 v, so maybe I just should have stuck with my constant 3.7 v kanger batteries. I have found that about 2 of my juices benefit from around 4-4.3 v. I think my coils are 2.0, should I go with 1.8 or lower? I also play around with the air control on my aerotank, just can't seem to get a good spot.

That's odd. I usually run my Aerotanks at about the same voltages--4.2-4.6v but I have 1.8Ω dual coils and I'm using them on my vv mods that go up to 6v. With the 2.0Ω DC you may be reaching the upper limits of your Spinner. Just guessing here. In addition, Kanger coils tend to meter out a bit higher then stated resistance--usually .1 or.2Ω higher. If that's the case, a 2.2Ω DC atty may just be too much for a Spinner. Have you tried lower resistance coils?

No, you haven't wasted your money on a Spinner--Spinner is very good battery, but, like most eGo-class vv batteries, begins to struggle at the highest settings. What's the mAh rating of your Spinner? If it's only 650, that might be a problem.

Don't give up on the Aerotank yet--it really is a nice device.

I agree with others who say just get one to start with. I used single coils for a long time. But when I tried an Aspire with BDC I loved the enhanced flavor. The only single coil I use now is a mini dripper...but that has even more flavor than my aspire. But this is all just my opinion. Try it for yourself and make your own decision. Everybody's palette is different.

Oh, I haven't given up on my aerotank, I switched the coils and it seems better at 1.8. actually much better as it felt like I blew the top of my head off. the coils I was using were 2.2. My spinner is an 1100 mah I think. I still don't go over 4.0 on my evod clearos. I am out alot at work so I mainly carry the evod clearos due to portability issues, and use my bigger aerotanks at home. I have 1.8, 2.2 and 2.5 coils, I may have gotten them mixed up. I do get more vapor out of the aerotank with dual coils and the throat hit is still good, but I also switched juices. I had white rhino butterscotch and switched to some kings crown, so it might be the quality of juice as much as anything..... Still not sure

I'm glad it's working better for you now!

Happy vaping!
