I've been reading about the side effects of quitting smoking for a while now and was wondering when I'd start to see some of the other often mentioned effects of quitting. I never had a cough so I didn't notice anything nor did I hack up any phlegm.

It's been just over a month for me and this morning I finally noticed that my sinuses are clear! Normally I've got clogged sinuses and rarely are the completely clear. Now, I've got some allergies and they're really hitting some people hard right now but not me. This is like a breath of fresh air.

Just a few days after I started vaping, those men with their infernal machines were cutting the grass outside my porch and I suddenly realized I could smell the grass cuttings, somthing I hadn't done for over 50 years! Serendipity is right, Agavehound! Now 10 months in, I've had only 2 sinus/allergy headaches in all that time, and those 2 very minor.

The downside is that I can now taste vanilla ice cream and have become seriously addicted to it... (And now I'm going to have to buy a small second freezer, cause the ice cream and nic base stash won't both fit in the main freezer.)

Well I have pretty serious sinus issues without any help. But vaping has been a godsend as far as helping with this problem. Within a couple weeks or so of vaping exclusively I didn't have the constant sore throat I'd learned to live with (always felt like I was on the start of a cold). I still have problems in the morning but that will probably not stop until I have surgery to correct the problem (it's a problem I've had since childhood).

I HAVE NOT HAD A "COLD" IN OVER A YEAR. This is a really big deal for someone like me because I pretty much constantly felt like I was catching one & I got them WAY more often than what's normal. Now I don't catch them at all. Woot!!!

Yay for vaping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your sore throat may have been caused by postnasal drip, common in allergy sufferers. It can also cause low-grade nausea.

Congrats on your cold-free year! :thumb:
