Hello All,

Ordered my VAMO v3 with a couple of 650 batteries but wanted to know if I should buy a couple of 18350 batteries to make the VAMO smaller when I go out and about. Does anyone know just how much shorter the 18350's will make it? (pics would be great!)

Thanks!

I'm not able to take pics at the moment, but I measured my VAMO V3 for someone here recently. Below are the lengths of the mod itself in its different battery configurations:

18650 mode: 5.5"
18350 mode: 4.25"

Batteries are named by their size but are not always accurate. 18650, 18mm (length) 65.0mm (diameter). To convert mm to inches multiply the mm by .03937.

(18)(.03937)=0.70866 [so that's just under 3/4 of an inch]

(65.0)(.03937)=2.55905 [2 1/2 inches]

18350
(35)(.03937)=1.37795 [a little over 1 1/4 inches]

Just remember this is just a base size. Different batteries can vary a little. Hope this helps. Just got my vamo a few days ago and I love it. 18650 mode at home if good but definitely get some 18350's for when you go out.

The 18 I'd the diameter in mm and the 65 the length in mom the 0 I have no idea but the 18350 should be 3 cm shorter than the 18650 and 1.4 cm shorter then the 18490... All same 18 mm diameter

(Depending on the brand some change by a few mm in length not diameter)

ahmmm........... 30mm

He's right. Li ion battery size numbers indicate approximate measurements. 18650 means 18mm diameter and 65mm length. However those are not exact numbers. 18650 can range from 60mm - 70mm but usually they would be 65mm then add on a few extra mm if they are a protected battery. Same applies to 18350. 18mm diameter 35mm length.

Be aware - recently with manufacturers battling for market share, batteries have been boosted for higher Mah,better performance.
This lead to straying further from the set standards.
There ARE 18650 batteries that exceed the 18mm mark and will NOT fit into some Tubes. All 3000+ batteries should be considered suspect until fit is confirmed.
Most are designed for High output Flashlights with larger compartments.
