I love my vivi mini novas, but I also like cinnamon e-liquids. The tank is fine, but the threads around the top are beginning to melt. I'm very careful with it, wiping it off and rinsing the cap before I put it back on, but I imagine it won't be long before it leaks. I've looked at pyrex/glass tanks, but the ones I've seen are all big, like a regular vivi nova size. Is there a slimmer one somewhere? Like mini sized? It's bad enough that my kit looks like a futuristic marital aid, but I'd like it to be at least stream-lined.

OCD pyrex tanks from IBTanked. Slim, high quality, economical pyrex tanks. Tubes come standard size for standard size cartos, and XL size for the XL cartos. Clear tubes start at $5, and go up depending upon paint style. Three choices in stainless steel endcaps, and several choices of colors in acrylic endcaps. You can get an entire pyrex tank for under $25.

I sent IBT an email, but I haven't heard back from them. I've only used Stardusts & vivi mini novas, so I don't know what is all entailed with a tank set up. I'm thinking tube, with a metal thingy (carto?) running up the center with wicks on the top of it (like the mini)? Can you say "noooobbbb?"

Your description of the design of a cartomizer is off a little. There are no wick strings in a cartomizer, but it has a filling material looking like tightly packed cotton inside of the metal casing, and a small airl tube that runs the length of the cartomizer inside of that filling. This filling material is what wicks and absorbs the e-juice inside the carto. The cartomizer must have one or two holes in the casing to allow juice to enter from the main tank and into the carto to reach the heating coils. Cartos casings can be punched with holes by you using a carto punch tool, or you can buy them pre-punched by vendors.

View of the top of a cartomizer. Note the air hole surrounded by the fill material. When filling with e-juice, put a wooden toothpic into the air hole to prevent juice from getting in it. Juice is dropped onto the cotton looking material until it looks like a wet slushy drink.
