If i get alot of nicotine ie i can actually see the liquid on my fingers i will wash it of but obviously over time an ecig gathers so much liquid on the actual shaft if you get me? like not sticky but you can see your finger prints on the ecig from where small amounts of juice have been rubbed in. When i picked it up earlier i smelt my fingers and they smelt of ejuice, so i am just wondering do i need to wash my hands after using it?

Quite hard to explain but hopefully someone will understand

Call me the queen of napkins and paper towels! LOL! I drip 100% of the time so it's inevitable that I'm going to miss sometimes. Plus, I tap out excess from the tip everytime I drip. Considering we are inhaling this into our lungs....milliliters a day, I don't think a couple of little messes on our fingers can do any more harm right?

This is one of those 50-50 deals. Naturally the outcome depends on the amount of liquid you come in contact with and the strength. If its a few drops of 18 mg we're talking about, I have had that happen over 20-30 times and here I am still typing away :) While there is an extremely high chance that nothing will happen, it is also good policy to thoroughly wash off any spills ASAP. For example, I remember reading a few posts where the person had a drop or two on his fingers but didn't wash off thoroughly. Then he inadvertantly rubbed his eyes.

I don't care to have juice on my fingers. Invariably, I end up rubbing my eye. I hate that. Other than the discomfort of doing something like accidentally rubbing it in my eye, I've never had any reason to think minimal contact of e-juice with skin was bad.

Filler cartos are less messy than dripping. But, some attys are less messy than others too. - I'm really fond of 306's, but they're probably the messiest vaping method I use. Over-dripping 510 attys is almost as bad. The hh357 atty is an exception. That one, though expensive, doesn't seem to leak. When it was on my REO, I thought it was just as messy as a 306. I couldn't quite get the hang of using the hh357 on a feeder. So, I put it on one of my tube mods that has a drip well thinking that would suffice. Since I've been dripping it, I have yet to see so much as a drop leak out in to the well.

Do ghrá SIG :) Albanach nó na héireann ?

My Irish isn't as good as it used to be, but - I'm fond of the saying in my signature too ;) My grandfather ended most letters to people he cared about with that and it stuck with me. And I'm pretty sure you are asking if I'm Irish or Scottish. I have Irish heritage. I was lucky to grow up in a house with several languages spoken regularly (mom was Irish, and my dad is German and Norwegian). Since mom passed, my Irish has gotten rusty. One of my children dances, so I do occasionally get to brush up a bit when we travel to ceilidhs, but it has been a while since I was around any Irish speakers for more than a few days.

I totally agree with AttyPops!

A while ago I transferred a liter of 100 mg./ml. (that's 10%) nicquid into little 60 ml. glass bottles for long-term freezer storage. I took all the normal precautions: windows wide open (even though it was 45 degrees F. out), fans creating a roaring gale, etc. As it turned out, I was using nitrile gloves that only came to the start of my wrists and a short-sleeve shirt. I got a drop of the high-test on my bare wrist, maybe the diameter of a dime, and within minutes, I had a headache and a case of the whirlies from the nicotine overdose. I now have a big box of forearm-length disposable nitrile gloves.

On the other hand, if I accidentally get a small drop of the diluted 15-18 mg./ml. (1.5-1.8%) e-liquid on my fingertips while filling or refilling cartos, I just lick it off with no ill effects.

E-Juice is just PG, VG, Nic, and flavoring. The PG, VG, and flavoring are fine. You could bathe in the stuff. The only issue is the nic.

Nicotine absorbs quickly and readily though the skin. Nicotine IS a poison! BUT, the effects of absorbing through the skin are the same as the effects of eating, which are the same as VAPING.

The only issue is if you absorb a lot of nic at once....then it can be toxic. LD50 for nicotine is about 1 mg/kg. For a 150 lb person, that's about 70 mg. For 18 mg/mL juice, that's around 8 mL. So, if you put 8 mL on your skin, and rub it around, you could do some damage if all the nic soaks in, (within the 20 min half life of nicotine in the system).

A few drops, even a mL or two, is no big deal. With enough of it, you can get a nicotine buzz, but again, it's no more dangerous than the nic you are absorbing through your lungs.

I don't bathe in e-juice, but I also don't sweat it when I get a big on my fingers. No biggie, just a slightly larger hit of nic during those 20 min...
