I haven't either mod, but if I had to pick I'd go the Smoant route to avoid the touch screen on the G-Priv on the "less to go wrong" theory. If you're talking about buying one, the G=Priv comes with one of the "Beast" tanks-- I forget which-- and many people like them. The Smoant does not appear to be bundled; at least not on the website I saw. And if you're buying, instead of getting a gift from a friend or something, take a hard look at a Sinuous Predator 228. I do have one of those and am thinking about getting another. I also am fond of the Wismec RX series of mods, of which I own three copies. I can't keep up, but there's 2 or 3 or 5 or 17000 different models now.

I have never had any trouble with the Predator. The 510 in the Wismecs can cause problems with attys having a 510 longer than 4mm. I have just learned which tanks not to use on them because I am too lazy to replace the 510s on 'em.

I've got the Smok G-Priv, it comes with the Smok big baby beast, TFV8, 25 mm, very good tank. I've put RBA decks in the tanks I have, original tanks had leaking issues because of atomizers wires causing leaks fixed by moving the wire. I have had no issues with the vaporizer, think the navigation with the touch screen is great and makes it so easy to use.
I did run into 2 people that say they had a problem with the device reading resistance and couldn't use the device. Prices have dropped on the G-Priv, since I like the touch I was hoping it would catch on but I don't think it did.
Watched a review of the Battlestar, I don't care for it but that's my taste.

Ok thanks mate . Could you please elaborate on what you like about the Predator (features etc.)

Size and price, primarily. It is a "third" generation device, meaning the electronics have gotten small enough and run cool enough the machine isn't a lot bigger than the two batteries powering it. There's nothing special about it I can see. It's just a good, solid little low-to-mid range 2-batt machine. It's lighter than my 3-batt machines, if not a lot smaller. But it's waaaaaaay smaller than the Old Skool second gen machines like the Siggie 150 or the Smok Koopor (both of which I have and use and like). The only thing I "don't like" about it is the fire bar. I prefer a button. But that's esthetics, it works just fine. I honestly never have had any 510 trouble with it. Even on the RXs I never had any except with the old Indulgence MT tanks. This used to be my go-to tank, the first one I ever found that breathes freely enough to please me. But now I have... I forget... 3? 5?... Boreas and I don't use the MTs any more. Not a scratch of trouble out of the RXs with those. I also use the iJoy Limitless RDTAs and the Serpent SMM tanks and various RDAs on both the RXs and the Predator. No worries.

As to features, you'll have to talk to somebody else. All I ever use is strict power mode. I do find the device reasonably ergonomic, meaning the buttons aren't hard to use and the menu makes sense.

"Which is the better option" is a loaded question and subjective. If you have the chance to play with them a bit in real life which feels better in your hand? Either will have similar performance. I do tend to agree that a touchscreen highly likely more prone to failure.

That said if you ever are going to consider vaping above 100w or want the ability to go long times on a set of batteries suggest also checking out the Smok GX2/4. In 2 battery mode the smallest 2x18650 mod out there and the main configuration I use with mine. (have 4 all different color with a 5th on the way) It's nice to have the option for 4 batteries playing with ubber higher powered attys or just vape for days without changing batteries lower watts. In 4 battery mode not really pocket friendly though while 2 battery no problem.

I don't have and am not familiar with the Battlestar, so can't/won't compare the two other then to mention the difference in shape which can be critical to some. I've had my G-Priv for quite some time and really like it. But since it is bigger then all my other dual battery mods, it's relegated mostly to at home use. I love the touch screen, the ease of locking and putting in stealth mode, and menu navigation.

The Predator 510 outer threads are press fit and will tear off the mod fairly easily even in normal use. That started happening to mine and then the mod wouldn't recognise any atomizers any more.
