Smoant Mini Charon won't work or fire

I bought this April 2019 and used it a lot for a few months. Then I switched to another vape for a while and ever since it won't work. I charged the batteries and the screen came on but I can't adjust anything but the wattage - it won't fire or let me go to the menus.

I have the software for it and have updated it but nothing seems to work now. I emailed smoant but they are on holiday until 2/5 I think so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas.

Now I have found that there is an update but the auto update won't work, keeps saying "Download failed try again". I don't know what to do and don't know how to update manually.

Can't help but sounds like EOL. As a followup just saw the Smoant Cylon 218W on sale for $24 (with code CNYRAT15). This is an excellent mod that I use continuously. Also looks like they have the Charon Mini for about the same. GL

Thank you - when I saw I could buy a new mini for $28 I jumped on it. It'll take a while to ship and get here but that's ok too!
