I tried running the firmware and I get an "Invalid Chip ID" "connection failed" message. My device keeps thinking it's charging when it's not plugged in and I'm at my wits end trying to fix it. I haven't heard back from Smok support.. Anyone have any ideas?
the problem for me was the config.ini file which came with the ISP programming tool I downloaded from above link.
I tried several different versions of tool and interesting but the version I used for Smok Alien mod (300 watt) seem worked for AL85 also and I upgraded my v1.0.7 AL85 to v1.0.12 without any issues. I used just the ISP upgrade tool not the firmware of Alien Mod 300watt , ofc.
I compared both ini files and saw below 4 lines which defines NUC220LE3AN type devices.
So, try to put below 4 lines to the end of the file.
[0x40022000]
NAME_STRING = NUC220LE3AN
RAM_SIZE = 4
FLASH_SIZE = 128
//put 2 extra empty lines to the end of the file if it does not have already (hit enter)
then select aprom file > *.hex > file=APROM_VIVI-120_V1.0.12.hex
- program=aprom
- hit start.
good luck
