smok's "Novo" series starts in 2018 and is renewed in 2019 with Novo2.
Compared to the 2018 Novo, its heir is almost identical in size despite double the battery capacity, 800 mAh compared to the 450 mAh of the first Novo.

The two previous versions of the Novo were both excellent entry level devices especially the Novo2 thanks to the greater capacity of the integrated battery. However, it seems that Smok listened to the community during the making of the Novo X.

Could this be the simple and automatic Pod that everyone was waiting for?

The third and final Novo X (of this review) grows slightly in size, maintains the positive characteristics of the Novo2 but adds a 0.49-inch OLED display and new 0.8Ω pods / coils.

How the Smok Novo X is made:

The metal frame is made with CNC cutting and is decorated on the panels in "black cobra snake" style.

The coloration of my sample goes well with the remaining black finishes and the dark color of the pod.

Above the pod / battery junction there is a thin transparent perimeter for visual control of the liquid level inside the tank.

The only selection button that also acts as an on / off switch is very small, slightly protruding and not difficult to locate with your fingers.
This multifunction button is located under the 0.49 inch OLED display.

The rear panel takes up the "cobra style" theme and shows the name of the device, the capacity of the integrated battery, the C E brand, the logo for disposal.

Just below the transparent perimeter for liquid level control you can see one of the two opposing airflows highlighted, you can also note the classic duckbill design of the mouthpiece.

The USB charging socket is located on the bottom of the Novo X.

The compartment for the cartridge is fixed to the frame by means of four French screws, ducts have been dug on the sides to transport the air sucked towards the coil.
At the bottom of the compartment, in the center, we see the contact pins and the sensor for the automatic Puff.

The Pod:
The Novo X in final version should be supplied with two pods / coils: one with Double Coil DC 0.8Ω MTL with range 12-25W and one with single Mesh always with 0.8Ω with range of use 10-15W.

The one with Double Coil DC is declared suitable by Smok for an MTL shot, while the one with Mesh unfortunately I did not find it in the package of my Sample, so I can only test the first one.

These pods / coils of the Novo X are larger and are not compatible with the original Novo and Novo2. The coils are integrated and non-removable.

The cartridges fit together, inserting / removing them is easy, thanks to precise CNC machining.

The side rubber for the refill is easily removed and offers a precise closure

The side air-flows are fixed and non-adjustable, they convey the air to the coil with a system defined as "U" that flows on the sides of the tank to flow into the center and under the coil.

This system was developed by Smok to minimize the formation of condensation, to maximize the aromatic return and to give an MTL impression of use to the Novo X.

How Novo X works:
The 0.49 "Oled screen of the Novo X is bright, clear and easy to read, it contains all the information useful for vaping such as: power indication, graphic level and percentage of residual charge, resistance value and Volt.

This is an automatic vaporizer. Through the only button on the mod, you can adjust the power from 1 to 25W in increments of 0.5W at a time.

- To switch the device on / off, press the button five times.
- For vaping just suck, during use the screen lights up and shows you the information.
- To adjust the power, press the button three times, the watts flash, press the button to increase by 0.5W at a time, when you get to 25W you will start again from 1W.

During the charging phase on the screen you can view the remaining time and the current charge level.
For an entire charge cycle it takes about 90 minutes.
Using this Pod I noticed that battery life is definitely a strength compared to other similar products.

Evidence Of Svapo Novo X:

It's a really small device! I can completely hide it in my hand for a super discreet vape.
The body of the Novo X is rounded and comfortable to hold, as a bonus, it is also light; weighs only 50 grams!

The pods of the Novo X have a shape that fits perfectly on the lips.
The mouthpiece is made of a smooth and black plastic, when the cartridge is inserted in the device, a thin transparent portion is visible between the cartridge and the battery which allows us to see the liquid level without removing the cartridge; just turn the device sideways to see if there is a need to refill.

The pod-coil with Double Mesh DC 0.8Ω MTL 12-25W offers a beautiful aromatic consistency, the production of steam is in line with that of the best prefabricated coil atomizers, at 19W I found the most suitable solution for me with this device and with this coil.

I really like it with this open MTL configuration, the steam comes out hot at the right point, without delivery irregularities. Sometimes to vary the yield, I partialize one of the two air-flows with my fingers to the advantage of an even warmer and more contrasted Puff. I find this simple operation that allows you to use the Novo X all day without getting tired.

I would have preferred more transparent surface on the Pod, for faster liquid control, however there is the method described above to verify it without removing the Pod from the battery.

I really like the Novo X, I own the Novo2 and I must say that the Novo X offers a better satisfaction, both visual and quality of the vape.
Novo X accompanied by Smok Nfix could make a nice pair of Pod Mtl, all day, satisfying several Vaper's.
