Smok Priv V8 issues. Did I get a dud?

Recently returned to vaping and wanted something compact and easy to use.

I got my Priv kit in yesterday and ordered some Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh batteries for it.

Got those charged up, filled the tank and put it on and got 4 flashes from the LED. Smok's FAQ tells me it is the resistance protection activating. My question, how can there be a resistance issue if I'm using the tank and installed coil from the kit?

Just frustrating to not have something work as expected out of the box when you get it.

I would tend to agree that you must be having an electrical connection issue. Are you even getting a "white light on" display that would indicate the mod is working?

Sometimes the 510 center pin on the mod doesn't make an electrical connection if the center pin has been pushed down into the mod. Often happens when folks accidentally over-tighten the tank onto their mod. Try "teasing" the center pin up higher (couple of mm) with a nail file or precision screwdriver and see if that helps. The pin can be manipulated up or down, and is held in place only by a silicon ring. Don't tease it out too far.
