So I'm new to vaping. Been almost 4 weeks since I made the switch from 1-1.5 packs of analogs a day for 18 years.

Finally stepped up to a 5v Smok Woo... And have been using the massive dual cartos that came with it. No issues, I filled each of the four carto's with different flavors to find a suitable ADVape. Having settled on (don't laugh) TV's Razberry Zinger, I decided to try my first carto tank. Enter the Smok Pyrex Carto tank.

PROBLEM:

I filled it up with my current ADV, screwed it onto my Smok Tube, and it vaped for all but 2 seconds before it stopped and the button blinks.

I did however find that if I unscrew it by a thread, it works great!!:vapor:But it is floppy and loose. Any ideas? Do I need some spacer adapter or something?

Thanks for the input.

Definitely not dead battery. I can switch back to the standard mega carto and it works great. For hours.

Also I don't have it torqued down heavily. I actually have to back it out quite a bit to where it's jiggly.

Also the tank cart is 2 ohm, the same as my 2 ohm cartos, and they work great.

I even tried to sandwich a silicone ring in there as a washer, but then it doesn't fire off the atomizer at all.

Successful thread is successful!! Thanks guys.

The spring loaded connection was indeed the culprit. It doesn't move much but the center contact on the tank does have a spring load. I antagonized it a little with a metal pick, screwed it back in a voila.

Works like a champ too. More vapor than the standard carto's and taste is clean. I am pleased.

While I've got some thread momentum, I want to share the vaping style I found through weeks of trial and error that has successfully crossed me over from tobacco cigs very easily.

I quickly found I have a sweet tooth. I like the sweet and fruity flavors. Being that I smoke Newport 100's for most of my 18 year habit, I first went straight for menthol flavor vapor. Quickly learned the meaning of AllDayVape, and menthol vape was not it. I think I did menthol for so many years to mask the fact that my throat was really sensitive to combustion burnt leaves & bark.

Vaping.... particularly lower PG% vape is so gentle on my throat that the menthol has lost it's appeal.

So after trying all kinds of flavors and PG/Vg ratios and strengths I've found my groove. I prefer No less VG than 50%, I like all my liquids sweetened. And I like to keep one tobacco flavor liq at 24mg around.

Here's the routine.

First morning vape.... 24mg tobacco, to get my nico cravings met. Doesn't take much, couple clouds with my morning coffee.

Bulk of the day.... 12-18mg sweet fun flavors. My APV is Raz Zinger, but I bounce around with blueberry and banana throughout the day.

After dinner, during breaks at work, and immediately after "pleasurable" activities with the wife..... 24mg tobacco

There it is. The stronger 24mg tobacco helps me through the only times I have an inkling of a feeling of absence from analogs. But for the bigger chunk of the day I love my flavor vapes much more than I ever enjoyed analogs and since I tend to chain vape I keep those down to 12, sometimes 18mg.

I am very comfortable with my system, my teeth are getting whiter, my lungs aren't so short on breath, my wife is repulsed by a disgusting cloud of smoke around me. And my favorite aspect is I can vape right next to her in bed and she doesn't mind a bit.

I farqing love vaping. And now that I got through the lengthy beginners process, hopefully my experience can help someone trying to figure out their own system.

Oh yeah, and I hate the smell of analog cigs and have no desire to go back. ...
