What kind of battery's should I use for a smok tfv4??
That's a tank. That shouldn't need to play any role into the battery you use.

Your battery choice depends upon the mod you are using. Mech or regulated?

I'm going to assume that you are using a regulated mod. With a regulated mod, coil resistance is irrelevant. The battery you choose depends upon the watts you will be vaping at.

In the interests of keeping things simple:

If you use a good quality 20 amp CDR battery like the Samsung 30Q or the LG HG2 then you are good for 60 watts per battery. If using a 2-battery regulated mod, your good for 120 watts as you have two batteries. If you are using a 3-battery mod, you're good for 180.

If you use a single 30 amp CDR battery like the LG HB6 you are good up to 90 watts; with a pair of 30 amp CDR batteries you could safely do 180 watts.

30W-60W:
LG 18650HG2 3000mah 20 amp CDR
LG 18650HE2 2500 mah 20 amp CDR
Samsung 18650 30Q, 3000 mah 20 amp CDR
Samsung 18650-25R, 2500 mah 20 amp CDR
Sony 18659VTC6 3000mAh 20A CDR
Sony 18650VTC5, 2600 mah 20 amp CDR
Sony 18650VTC4, 2100 mah 23 amp CDR
AW 18650 3000 mah 20 amp CDR
30W - 75W:
Sony 18650VTC5A, 2500 mah 25 amp CDR
60W or higher:

I recommend you limit your choices to the above AW, Lg, Samsung, or Sony batteries. Aftermarket batteries often exaggerate their battery specs. Stick with the "Big Three" battery manufacturers.

Once you've decided upon what amp battery you need, then choose among those with the most capacity (mah).

Welcome @boonie3

I run my TFV4's with Q4 and CLP2 coils around 64-76 watts, so use dual 18650 mods. @Baditude has provided all the info on batteries, so read it closely. For no particular reason, I stick with the LG HG2 chocolate batteries and they have served me well. If you only have a single 18650 mod, you might strongly consider 25, or better yet 30 amp batteries. Battery life will be shortened some, but that should give you the power you need if approaching 75 watts. Then include a dual 18650 mod sometime soon in your vape budget.

If your using the stock multicoil heads or even the RBA you should use a mod that has 2 or more batteries. Get a mod that uses external batts so you get more lifetime out of the mod than the internal battery mods that have to throw away after the batts poop out. The few single battery mods I have seem too crap out past 40 watts using older batts that the dual battery mods do just fine with. The brand new battery will work fine in the single battery mod but after time it looses the umph to fire the TFV multi coil heads efficiently. If your planning on vaping less than 20 watts all the time then a single battery mod should suffice just fine.
