Since I've quit smoking via my e-cig I've noticed I'm not coughing up any cigarette crud.

When I first attempted to quit while using the patch for a week, it seemed like I couldn't inhale without getting that tickle in the back of my throat and coughing.

I thought maybe the PG or VG could be suppresing the phlegm and crud from being coughed up?

How long has it been since you quit the analogs completely? When I switched to the ecig, after about 2 weeks the coughing started. Got worse and worse over the course of about 4 weeks before it finally stopped and I was cleared out. I would actually wake up coughing in the middle of the night due to it and have to get up because the phlegm and crud had to come out! The steam from a hot shower also helped to make it start coming out too. I started go get worried that it was happening so long and I wasn't able to get a restful sleep. Finally it started clearing up and stopped altogether. If you have been vaping for several weeks, I'm surprised it hasn't started happening yet. It may depend on how long you smoked analogs, but I'm not really sure - just sharing my experience.

Not sure about your question but another data point would be how I used to be when doing hard work like yard work. I would get really short of breath and over heated. Coughing quite a bit.

Last weekend I did 3 hours of work and didn't hardly break a sweat. No coughing and felt great. In general now I don't cough hardly at all and when I do nothing deep just like clearing my throat.

Quite a difference but I don't really understand the reasons except I am not putting tar and other stuff in my lungs anymore.

Wonder what the PG/VG are doing and how it gets out?

I wonder about how the PG and VG get out too.

I figure anything is better than tobaco so I'm not too concerned.
