OK, I'm new here, but maybe others might be in the same boat as I and find this useful.
I knew nothing of the E Cigs until recently. I live in NC and there is a huge store that sells about everything under the sun called JR's. If you've travelled in NC much you'll see their billboards everywhere. Two or three locations I believe.
Anyway, I went in there and got a smokestik to start vaping. After reading lots of reviews of the super mini's from other manufacturers, I thought I'd post my thoughts about this one and how it seems to compare to what others say about the others.
The starter kit I got came with two batteries, a wall charger and three starter cartomizers. I also bought a pack of 5 menthol carto's since I was a menthol smoker. (this was a mistake I later discovered)
Battery life is really much better than I hear reported about the other super mini's. I can go most of the day on one battery which seems pretty good since they will charge in a few hours. I also have had no trouble with the auto switch doing anything wrong.
The full flavor carto's are really pretty good. Good vapor, strong throat hit and nice flavor. The menthols are awful. More like peppermint candy with very poor vapor production and although they seem to have no throat hit, they do make me cough almost every puff. Instead of feeling like a TH, they just flat irritate my throat and make me cough.
I am waiting for my juice to come in the mail so I can try refilling the carto's, but I will have to remove the hard plastic mouthpiece because the condoms that come with the cartos are just maybe 5-10mm tall. Not like the ones that are half as long as the cartos that seem to come on the 510's. The starter kit was reasonable (~$65) but the carto's are $15.99 for 5 which is much more than I see most 510 carto's going for.
The factory filled cartos are supposedly the equivalent of 30 cigarettes or 400 puffs from what I was told at the store. This is way off. They don't last nearly that long, but they will last me maybe 3/4 of a day and that would have been about 10 cigarettes for me in the past, so I'm hoping when I refill I can get longer life from them.
Overall, it was a good starter and I recommend them to my friends, but although I'm going to keep it as a backup, I think I'm already going to pick up an Ego with some 510 carto's and start picking up more ejuices.
