My SE atty just died on me. Now I am on a quest to find some replacements. I looked all over the place and everyone is out of stock. Its only been a week and this is going to be the third atty. That just sucks. If anyone knows of a supplier that has them to sell, please let me know.

I am also wondering if I am just better off buying a different model. It looks like a lot of people have been really happy with the 501 and 901. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was pretty happy with the SE, but if this is the normal life span for the atty, I think I'm ready to move on.

Grab another PV chief, SE products are notorious for falling to pieces.

I just posted this somewhere else but eVapor.com has a deal going on manual 510's (much more reliable product) for 35 bucks. Click this Link for the page.

I'm not a seller or anything but 35 bucks is about a good a deal as you can get and it's 2 batteries and 2 attys which gives you some breathing room on parts. Oh! and they have a good selection of colors.

Thanks a million. I am ordering some now!!

You're welcome. :)

The RN4081 is supposed to be one workhorse of an atty so I got a mod that uses it and am ordering another mod that uses it as well. Haven't used them yet but maybe you're just having a string of bad luck. :(

Hope your new attys work out better for you. If not, check out the tips and tricks section on the forum for help on cleaning attys and such. Good luck!

A lot of people hate the SE, but honestly - it is my favorite atomizer + cart combo I have tried - noting my limited trials of course.

My first atomizer died in 3 days. Took it back to the mall and the guy replaced it no problem and threw in some chocolate or coffee carts? Don't remember now but tasty I do remember that :D and we just sat and vaped for a while and shot the breeze.

It has been going strong since and that was a few weeks ago now. It definately out vapors anything else I have, and the battery - as short as it is - lasts WAY longer than I expected it to. Always take it with me when I go out. I really like it.

As far as having a really easy draw and good vapor with a near-death experience in throat hit - I would have to recommend a 901 with cartomizer -> or I am sure the KR808D? I think they are? Would do the same. Holy crap! LOL I am sold.

Take care,
- Hap

Three atomizers in a week indicates a problem. Those attys are quite rugged. You should look into your technique, and basic use. I'm suspecting you may be running them too dry.

The SE's are pretty rugged, although overpriced, but cheaper parts are available for them. If you've blown three attys already, chances are you'll blow attys with other models as well.

Follow the link in my sig. It might help a bit. If not, we can help further.

I agree, three attys in a week is really excessive. My first was an SE Gold (RN4081) and I think I went through 1 dead atty in 3 months. I still use the supermini as a backup, but I switched to a 901 as my primary; I think it gives better vapor, is easier to pull, and the batt lasts longer.
Check out your vaping technique, especially if the atty you've been using gets hot (warm is okay, hot probably means cart is too dry). Be careful of flooding the battery, but dry carts kill attys.

It appears that several responders are saying you must be doing something wrong, that it can't be the RN4081-SE ecig that is the problem. From reading many posts, my impression is that some feel that all ecigs are about the same and that none is any better than any other one. So that would suggest that user error is the main problem.

Hopefully someone will give you good instructions on how to use the 4081 to provide good consistent performance for 5-6 hours on each charge. I hope it gets better for you.

Just to clarify, the first atty was DOA. It just never worked. I went back to the mall and the guy replaced it no problem. I have had the SE for a week now and have had no problems, in fact I think it works great. I have been using a lot of juice because I like getting a bigger hit when it is full, so I dont think I'm really running them dry.

I am going to the mall right now to see if they will honor their warranty and replace the atty for free. I also am ordering some replacements from azsmokefree.com the guy that owns it told me that the addy's should last for at least a few months each.

So far my experience with the SE people have been pretty good, but I'll post what my results are ar the mall.

The People at the mall may be nice but you don't have to spend that amount of money to keep your SE going. SE (4081) attys can be bought for $5.50ea. Cheap batteries from the same source. A passthrough would also help you out. You can get more information at the 4081 specific Forum at;

Fristly, I vote Jim Davis the guru of this site, He knows everything about these e-cigs and has never been wrong from what I have read.

Secondly, I did go to the mall this afternoon and once again, they were more than happy to give me a new atty. It is kind of a pain that I have seen two bad atty's already. The sales guy just pulled on out a what looked like a new box (note I said it looked like a new box), then he screwed it on and I tried it. Low and behold, it worked again. I am now vaping again and I'm happy. Maybe I paid way too much for this thing, but it's nice to know I can drive the two miles and get it working again. I have seen a few horror stioreis here about people buying from SE online and never getting a resolution.

With all that said, I wonder if the atty's I have gotten are really new ones. The guy did pull it out of a box that looked new, but maybe it was just a returned one that soemone brought back to them. Maybe the first one I got was from some other guy that returned his because it was a bad atty. Maybe I finally got a new one, or maybe I didn't. I can't accuse them of foul play, but it does seem odd that I am on atty #3 already. The good news is that they have repeatedly told me that I can bring it back anytime within the next two years and have it fixed if it ever breaks for "any reason". I guess only time will tell if that is true.

Anyway, I am happy now. I did talk to the guy that runs the AZ Smoke Free site and he sells the Joye M510 starter kit for only 40 bucks. I could have bought three of those for what I payed for my SE, and still had a few bucks left over. I think I will order one from him and just use my SE for a backup. I have read a lot of good things about the 510 on this forum. Even Jim says they are good. And if Jim says they are good, they must be good. LOL

+1 to that.

And I have to agree that it is very nice to simply be able to drive a few minutes and get my PV fixed anytime I need to. As long as this guy here is in business, I know I'll be taken care of. Very nice guy and actually I go up there and just have a vape and a cup of coffee with him on occasion on the weekends if I'm in town whether I'm using my SE or not.

Also agree that they are way expensive and one can find a huge variety of devices out there now for 1/4 the price. But, I still don't regret it and I have to say after much use now - it still produces the most vapor of anything I've used.

Granted I have yet to use high voltage stoofs or a 510, but I can't imagine it getting better than my little 4081 - the vapor clouds are nuts and I wouldn't want it thicker - it would never go away!! LOL

Take care all,
- Hap
