First post and I thought I woudl chronicle my path to the good and steady place.
I decided I would give the ecigs a try. Bought a starter kit, auto ego type battery, 410 type vaporizer, charger. Stopped at a local tobacco shop to get some juice. Nearly gave up, weak performance, short battery life and the juice tasted like 3 in 1 oil (still does). I figured there had to be more to it than that or nobody would be doing it.
Read some forums, bought an extra (bigger )battery and got some more clearomizers, still the stardust type. Biggest change was I got some decent juice on line from juice mafia. This was a plateau for a week or so. I could almost see this replacing smoking. The equipment was very frustrating, I had to carry two rigs to work as one would invariably quit hitting well or even plug up and they got softer as the day went on, directly opposite my need for nicotine.
Soon i had a half dozen clearomizers in various juices, fill state, and working conditions. I figure that sort of clearomizer hits well about 30% of the time. And i was cleaning and dry burning and fishing the seals out the end. Pretty high maintenence. Next big innovation was a twist battery, then another. These would keep things going all day at a reasonable volume. Fighting with the clearomizers would get them up to maybe 40% so two would get you by. Another week, no cigarettes.
I was looking at the clearos and it occurred to me they were built upside down. Did some research and shopped around and I hit on the Kanger t3s. Ordered some more juice and a T3s and waited impatiently for the vapemail. The t3s was almost miraculous, great vapor delivery, nice draw and no screwing around. It worked for about an hour, until I washed it out and tried some new juice I got from Mt Baker. Before I got a chance to vape it, the mouthpiece end of the tank popped off. And it was frosted. I quickly washed it out again and got out the super glue.
I got it back to limping along and it was still a lot better than the top coil cleearos, and the bottom coil idea was clearly the way to go. But, I was pushing the envelope on the vape budget already. After much lookig and longing. I finally found a place that was selling the Protank 2 for 10 bucks, and they were in state so I might see it before the T3s gave up completely. And it was Pyres and brass, no cheesy plastic.
I'll leave that saga for the next post: living with the protanks.
