Well, just because they were on a really good sale and I wanted to play around with one and have a tank I could see the liquid in for a little while, I picked up one of these (smoktech 5ml dual coil carto tank) with my last MV liquid order and frankly, I am completely unimpressed with the appearance of the tube plastic.

The entire inside of the tube has tiny/fine scratch marks from end to end, no doubt from the "manufacturing" process. It is basically hazy looking because of all the rubs/scratches on the inside.

There is also a casting "bubble" mark on the outside of the tube.

I can't really complain I guess, heck it was $8. But just mentioning this in case seeing a lot of fine scratches inside your tube would bother you, and assuming the one I got is a representative sample rather than put on sale BECAUSE of its issues. I might be the only person who looks this closely at their vaporware. (I suspect I'm not, though).

Just keep in mind how cheap they are and set expectations accordingly.

I haven't used the tank yet so I can't really speak for its functionality. I did notice how easily the tank slides on (and OFF) the carto, so it makes me appreciate my ACTv4's in this respect, even if I can't see the liquid.

I'll have my own solution for that problem soon, though. :)

I use one of those tanks and cut the length down to accept a regular Boge 3.0 Carto and have not had a leak yet, actually a really nice little tank for the cost, but then again I dont have alot to compare it too.

What did you cut the tank with? I want to cut one of mine down but I don't really want to buy a $10 pipe cutter that I'll only use once, lol. I was thinking a dremel or even a hacksaw and then just sanding down the end I cut off. It's just a pain trying to get a nice straight cut like that. Oh well, that's what I get for being cheap I guess, lol.

I used a tubing cutter found in the plumbing section of your local Lowes or HD, I put a deep well socket inside so the tube would not distort as I cut it but a dowel rod or anything that fits inside fairly snug will work. Just use the carto to measure the length you need and have at it, then you can determine the locations for the holes in the carto once you have the length.

Miter saw set to 90 degrees (straight cut) going nice and easy with lowering the blade.

Oh and lots of care with how you're holding the tube etc. and where your fingers (or whatever you're fixing the tube in position with) are in relation to the blade. hmm. This would probably not be a great thing to use unless you're fairly familiar with using miter saws, etc.

But if you are familiar with it, it should make a nice clean cut. Don't cut through (pushing blade down) TOO quick or it will be a sloppy cut and it may try to kick out on you. If it DOES kick out, "let it go", don't try to kneejerk response to save it or you may do something you'll regret with your hand/fingers/etc., LOL.

May want to practice on some scrap pipe or wood or something to get an idea of exactly where the edge of the blade will make its cut.

If you end up with any little burrs or "flash" you should be able to file them off without making any new scratches etc.

I went ahead and filled up the smoktech tank, figured I might as well try it out since it's going to cost me about as much to send it back as I would get for a refund. The tube does look better with liquid in it - the scratches on the inside wall of the tube aren't quite as obvious. It will do for now....

Cool! I'm gonna be ordering one. What's a nicer tank / carto?

I've been looking at some of the options at Big Daddy Vapor... I dig the stainless look. But I'm holding off on any larger purchases until I get back in the wife's good graces... she found the invoice from when I bought the ProVari. :p

The Arry Act4 has kind of been in my sights now. I change flavors, but I do want 1 tank & I want it to the best. In my research this seems to be most durable if ur gonna have just 1. blah blah blah, but I wanted 2 ask what's ur fix for viewing liquid level
