SMOKtech ZMAX Variable Voltage/Wattage Rev. 2 - STAINLESS STEEL
$129.95 $119.95

This is Revision 2 of the original Zmax. The first revision, while much liked by many, had issues with running too hot due to means value voltage monitoring that was not at all accurate at the lower voltages. This caused cartos to vape often with a burnt taste.

SMOKTech took in all the feedback including feedback that was expressed strongly by Gotvapes when SolemnPenguin gave feedback (among others) in or Alpha program and they made changes. They have added an 8th menu option now that allows you to turn RMS on which is a more accurate, continual voltage monitoring and adjustment. It is able to adjust on-the-fly for voltage drifting from heat.

Our ZMAX is the Stainless Steel version. You receive only the Zmax, no batteries, in a presentation box with a manual that has not been updated with instructions for the 8th menu/RMS option but it just presents you with an option to choose RMS or Means value voltage monitoring and adjustment.

Features:
  • The Zmax can take a single 18650 battery (we recommend flat or button top IMR batts not Protected as protected won't fit, not all 18650 batts will fit so we are not responsible for that). You can also use 2 18350 batteries.
  • Adjustable from 3.0v to 6v in .1v increment; you can adjust the constant power/wattage output from 3.0watts to 15watts in .5 watt increments.
  • The LED display will display output voltage, battery remaining voltage, atomizer resistance, power on/off, and LED on/off.
  • Switch is rated at 5amp and has 360 degree rotation so it protects from getting stuck.
  • ALL of our ZMAX has BLUE LED.
  • eGo compatible threading.
  • Take the time to read through your manual to familiarize yourself with all the menu options, Keep it handy to refer back to when needed.
Error codes:
  • LOR - Low resistance indication - If resistance is below 1.2ohm,the display will show "Low Load".
  • LOU - Low voltage indication. If battery is below 3.4V the display will show "Low Voltage".
  • WSC - Short circuit indication.
  • Low Battery Indicator - push button slowly flashes red when the battery gets low and needs a fresh battery.

We provide a 14 day warranty from the date of receipt that is strictly enforced. This is an advanced vaping device and do not purchase this if you are fairly new to vaping, it does have a bit of a learning curve and we cannot afford to take back returns on such an expensive item simply because you may get frustrated in trying to use it optimally. Please understand this!

why only the 14 day warranty instead of the smoktech 90 day?
I believe you will still have the SmokTek warranty but you will have to deal with SmokTek after the 14 days form GV. Seems reasonable to me. To me it does not seem a whole lot different than buying anything else from any store unless you purchase an extended warranty. Maybe GV should consider some sort of extended warranty / replacement service at an additional cost.

normally the vendor has to send the unit back for warranty as smoktech usually does not deal with non vendors

I never ran across that. That's kinda odd but surely not unbelievable. We live in a world of hoops. just need to find the right ones to jump through to keep going on.

Not taking shots at a vender as most I have seen have the same thing. This is not like buying anything at any store. Most of the good etailers give you 30 days. Larger B&M stores give about 90. Thats not even a big deal. The big deal in the vaping world is if there is a problem after the 14 days, you have to deal with an over seas manufacturer. That sux and is why I have not purchased any china pads. In the vaping world, theres not much choice. Its either spend a lot (buying american) or buy cheap (buying shenzen) and hope for the best. These guys are so relatively small that they cant afford to take risks like that and stay profitable. Especially since most of us are tinkerers. :D

Bang for buck, this looks to be a winner..I think I just found myself something for Mrs. Claus to scoop up...

Zipper so far it appears to be a good device from the 2 weeks i been using my version 2 of the Zmax.
Only thing i suggest is get the extended end cap as the 18650 batteries are not all same size and your 18650 batteries may fit kinda tight when screwing down the regular end cap.

This was my case.

For example the 18650 efest button top and the flat top in mine fit a little to snug with the regular cap and i was not comfortable putting pressure over usage of time on the button thats soldered onto the Zmax board that meets the battery when inserted, luckily i had the extended cap that was bought with the device and it worked just fine.

Until further thought then
with the regular cap I simply changed out the spring with a shorter one i had from my model trains and it works perfect with the button and flat top efest's now and i still retain the original spring put back in the presentation box.
I suppose i could have cut the original spring down but just did not want to as it comes out of cap very easily to replace.

In my case from i have the 14 days as well from a vendor sorry gotvapes i was not sure you would would carry the new ones after the problems with the first version.
Now the catch from where i bought mine, there also is a free 6 month warranty BUT and i say BUT you have to send in the defective only part if i read that correctly.
Well not a problem as the board will most likely be the culprit as this i can remove without damage its in there just like the provari board.
Course i would ask first to send unit in but if they got smart with me i just take the board out and have them send me a new one .

I've kinda been wanting a new VV to take around town with. I'm paranoid about bringing my ProV on the road. Considering its Stainless, has a Blue LED display, lots of functions, and will aready accomodate 18650's...I'm going to jump on this one.

If I remember right, GV did carry the first run of Z-max, but it never made it out of the Alpha program, because of the reported issues.
GV gets a BIG KUDOS for this. This V2, I have to assume, addressed all the pitfalls of the original...

Zipper personally i think it has and there are some good figures out of Germany i have seen, and just recently another VW device that has the RMS was done and the figures looked good also.
As a note Zipper you may also be paranoid with this Zmax it may not have the provari emblem but it seems to have the Cadillac engine inside, passage of time will tell . ; )
These devices sure are advancing with there electronics, and for modders whoa like in the DNA20 modders board soon to hit the Christmas stockings. ; )
