Sniping Leads properly

Just my $0.02 but after getting an Aspire coil rebuilt I make sure the leads are snipped extremely tightly to the grommet. If they are not snipped as tight as possible, when you screw your head back into your device base you can easily SCAR the inside of the base as you screw the head in. If you do not snip properly and closely you are basically rifling the base of your device much like a gun barrel.

This is probably vaping 101 but though I would throw it out there.

Good point, plus, if you're really slobby with your wire cutting, you risk making a short as well, as you risk having the positive wire touching the side/negative part of the connection.

On my Kanger coil rebuilds, I put a little bit of pressure against the pin and twist or pull the leads back and forth until metal fatigue causes them to break off incredibly close to the grommet (closer than I can clip with cutters).

Get yourself some flat faced toenail clippers, works like a charm.

Yes, I use the flat sided nail clippers. I clip as close as possible without chunking off a piece of the grommet.

yep made this mistake last night as i watched...drip triper or something on youtube to rebuild my first protank head, just used scissors and think i shorted the thing

I had a bunch in my "used" compartment. Sorted out four to recoil. Tried the metal fatigue method, and it works. My finger cannot feel the end at all. However, the clippers were still needed to snip off the lengths, and one situation where the lead was too short to grasp securely.
