snus storage

Hey all, I just finally got my package from getsnus.com and got 4 rounds and some sampler packs, I know that the samplers do not require special holding, but where should I keep the rounds prior to opening and what about after they are open?

I've always heard to keep them in the fridge.

Just make sure your fridge isn't stinky!

Hi need. The fridge is the best place for short-term storage and if you wind up with a rather large hoard (like some folks ....I hear ) keep the extras in the freezer, preferably wrapped in Saran Wrap. The snus won't spoil, but it can dry out over time, especially after it's been opened. And freezing preserves flavor and nic in the long run. And welcome to the Dark Side .

Refrigerate everything you will not use each day. The cold prevents further formation of nitrosamines, the nasty little cancer-causing stuff we want to avoid. It's also retains the anti-microbial aspects of snus.

I'm headed out tomorrow for a week on the road and I know the hotel I'm staying in doesn't have a fridge in the room... This will be my first extended period of multiple cans open with no refrigeration, but I'm not expecting anything too unusual... Hopefully.

Like others have said before, I keep a good selection of open cans in the fridge, but for longer term storage, I keep mine in the freezer, sealed in freezer bags with as much of the air as possible pressed out of them.

Allco, I keep several open cans at work and haven't had any problems.
