Thanks all!!! Could be sooooo much worse if I didn't have my PV ....

Emanguba,

I can't exactly say what I'm missing. Clearly I'm getting the nicotine. I have mostly 18's with the occasional 24 thrown in for good measure. I was a chain smoker and now am a chain vaper, but I'm still missing something. Got 8 flavors in today, most of which I like, and ordered 8 more. I love my eGo. I love most of my juices. Is it possible I just miss all those chemicals that were trying to kill me?

Absolutely....I went through some nasty withdrawls from the other chemicals when I quit. I tend to think those chemicals are just as addictive if not more so than the nicotine. But I'm telling you....you can make it. Sometimes you can change your vape to compensate. I got bigger batteries, low resistance atomizers....tried everything from the Blu on through all the battery and juice mods. I raised my nic levels to the point it was painful, then lowered them and vaped more consistantly until I found my "sweet spot". There are so many variables that can make or break your transition. I now have been vaping comfortably with no desire for analogs since late August. Just don't give up....make the changes....you will find what works for you, it just takes time. It took my husband 4 weeks....it took a guy name Dave in another thread one day....and it took me 6 months. Don't give up....you can make it! :)

That first week is a tremendous milestone, Wendy. I say that quitting analogs was easy for me, mainly because I get all of the pleasurable aspects of smoking (hand to mouth, the nicotine fix, the inhaling and exhaling the vapor) without the negative health consequences. I can taste and smell again. My hands don't reek of stale ashtray. I don't have yellow stains on my fingers. My son hugged me and for the first time told me I smelled "pretty". No more lead balloon lungs or sore throat. No edginess. On top of that, there are aspects of vaping that are way better than smoking. I can do it in the house and not stink up the place or harm my son's lungs. I don't have to go outside in the freezing cold to get my nic fix. It tastes good. I get excited when I order a new juice everyone's been raving about or a new device or try a new brand of cartomizer or order a fancy drip tip in colors I love. I never got this excited about buying a pack of smokes. I did it because I had to.

I know it can be difficult quitting smoking but you've already come this far keep up the good work. I think what your missing is all the additives they put in cigarettes to keep you addicted it takes a couple of weeks for your body to get rid of all those nasty toxins. It was hard for me at first too but I lived with smokers who I can proudly say they all vape now because of me. after about 2 weeks I was fine I used 24mg nic. I've been vaping for 6 months now and I don't even think about cigarettes any more.

This may not be the best suggestion since you have gone one week already, but what put me over the edge was after a couple days of vaping, in the back of my mind, I always felt like I missed that one of a kind analog feeling, so I stole one from my hubby, 3 puffs later, I knew I would never go back. It tasted aweful, made me feel sick and the feeling of inhaling it was nothing like I remembered. Now, whenever I see or think about an analog, I remember that feeling and know that I will never touch one again!! Hope this helps!

Haha, I'm the same way with ordering stuff, thats my new addiction lol. I told am rounding the corner of 7 days (and the new years woot woot).

What keeps me vaping is being around friends who smoke and hearing them say "Damn, I just put a cig out and feel like I want another one" which is my que to pick up my pv, puff puff and set it on the table again with a huge grin on my face =). Those very situation have happened to me where I would have to stop myself from chain smoking. Thank everyone here at EFC for being such a strong and helpful community.

Oh and to Wendy's initial post, CONGRATS!, keep up the good work, and so will I. And Jenn, I <3 your avatar. Ignignot and er are the best!

Stick with it. When finding new PVs, flavors, cartomizers, or whatever else you may think "this is more expensive that smoking normal cigarettes." Again, stick with it. You'll eventually find something you -really- like and be as happy as you can be. I started withe Nebula's from Vapornine, which is still my go-to smoke when going out. They aren't practical for home use (battery life is too short) so I ordered the Spark Plug for Smokers, used it about a month and didn't like it. I then ordered the Omega, and now I'm definitely set. I'm still experimenting with juices and trying to decide if I like 510 carts or 808s more, but I'm finally starting to find my sweet spot.

The trick is making things simple. If things get to complicated by having to many juices and pieces of hardware you'll probably just go to the store and buy a new Bic and some cancer sticks for 7 or 8 bucks. You know you don't want that. :)

My advice is to find a home/work/everyday device like an Omega, where the battery lasts ages and you don't have to fool with it much. I would also pick up a normal e-cig so you don't look ridiculous while at a restaurant, or whatever.

Hey Wendy,
~You go Girl ~ Congratulations. Some people dream it. You've done it.

Someone mentioned the other chemicals found in cigs being hard to kick. I agree. I don't know what those chemicals are, but I believe they are as addicting, or more so, than nicotine. You've done the hard part. Each day should be getting easier. Stay tough and stay strong.

Happy New Year and Happy Vaping,
Paula
