Welcome, Laura. I think you'll like it here.

Whew, Snow, I passed the test! (I didn't even know there was a test -- drat I hate surprises!)

And, with apologies to J. Kliban, let me especially sing of my fondness for squirrels:

"Love them little squirrels,
Squirrelies what I love to eat:
Bite they little heads off,
Nibble on they tiny feet!"

(Relax, Wader, I would never eat YOUR squirrels. . . ):)

We need to work on that Joyce. I was thinking something along the lines of the Vulcan greeting raising your hand turning it palm facing away from the person you are greeting with thumb tucked and 4 fingers extended, the the L symbol with palm facing the person you are greeting.

i dunno what do ya think?

I'm having trouble getting a visual on that, Snow. Should probably have a "V" in there simulating holding an auto battery, dontcha think? :p:vapor:

I'm not overly fond of them at the moment. Keeping them out of the bird feeders has made smarter people than me cry. It really is kinda shameful to see an otherwise very bright person reduced to tears by the antics of a squirrel.

(I've been doing a little back yard bird photography the last few weeks. My "fledgling" photo album is here: Home - For The Birds ... ;) )

They haven't made it through my electrified squirrel rejector yet. If it survives them another month, I'll duplicate it across the other feeders. All my other baffle designs are good for a couple weeks, month tops. They've definitely tried to get around that one, and learned pretty quickly that it was a big ouchie. That and it knocks them onto the ground where they're an easy target for the white-thang-with-nasty-sharp-pointy-teeth, so they tend to avoid that feeder.
