Need to ask, and if this is in the wrong forum, my apologies, but I went thru pages and pages and couldn't find what I needed.
I have a riva 901-usb charger says input 5v 500mA. output 4.2v 420 mA. I need a car usb charger, traveling soon. I also have a pigcig: input 5v=0.3A and output 2v=0.1A.
What car charger can I get that accomadates both of these? I have seen universal chargers but 12v-but that's too much, isn't it? last thing I need is a popped pv when I'm away from an outlet.
TIA

Your car USB adapter just needs to output 5V 500mA (.5A) to charge both of them. The charger itself will only take what it needs.

If you can find a 5V 1200 mA or greater USB adapter it will work with 5 V passthrus and charge your batteries. You should be able to find them where cell phones/MP3 players are sold like Radio Shack, etc.. Many of the online ecig vendors sell them too.

TY juicejunky, that does help! I don't have a passthru, just want the charging part of it. (passthru may come later) From what I see, 1 amp may be too little and 2 amp too much? I tried radio shack and they had 1 amp, but the guy wasn't sure and they wanted 19.99 for it. Think I can do better price wise, if not, then I'll know where to get one locally.

If you want one for just charging it should be around $6-10

Good Prohphets has it for $4.99 if you need drip tips or something else too. The 1000mah should cover anything you want to charge. Your chargers will not take more than they need. Many other e-cig venders sell them.

2 amps won't be to much, the charger will only take what it needs. The 2amp rating just means it's capable of delivering up to 2 amps if needed so I would error on that side. Better to have a little overkill than to put to much stress on it.

Madvapes as well as others have a 5v 2amp USB Adapter for a Cigarette Lighter and AC Outlet.

2 amp AC to USB Adapter, ideal for Passthroughs

Or

2 amp Car to USB Adapter

Depending on which one you need. You can also use a 5v pass through from those with no issues.

I have this one and it works fine for $7. As NoMoreAsh said the device will only draw the power it needs. Power in watts=Voltage x Resistance. That's why a light bulb produces heat and light according to the resistance of its internal element, even though it's plugged into a 15 or 20 amp outlet.
