So I got my Volt and I started vaping. It was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. The first few days I was still smoking and after five days I smoked my last cigarette. I am completely off of analogs although it has only been a day or two. I smoked probably 1/2 pack to a little more a day. I do feel a little more hungry than usual, but I'm a foodie so it is hard for me determine if it because of the non smoking or because I just love food. I have to say that it is the one thing that I am afraid of because I have been able to keep off more than 65 pounds of the over 85 pounds I have lost for the past 7 or 8 years and I CAN NOT go back to that kind of weight. But it is early and I will see how I do.

From the day I received my Volt, I have not purchased another pack of cigs. I am shocked and I have to say that the thought of buying another pack...I can't even imagine it. Even if I never go to juice, but continue to buy pre-filled cartos, I am still going to save hundreds of dollars. My husband is going through the same thing and he has not smoked either.

I do have to say that I think about smoking. I do not have a desire to smoke, but it is only because I know that it is not good for me and I am trying to be a little healthier. But I love smoking and I did not want to do this because I always smelled like cigarettes, or because my house smelled, or because it annoyed others around me or because it was bad for me. I just know I needed to stop because I am getting older and want to eat better and it's crazy to start eating less red meat while puffing on an analog.

This has been a good experience so far, but I have only been doing this since Friday. We will see what I am writing by next week.

Thank you to everyone in this forum. I have just met you and I am already thankful to have found all of you.

Talk to you soon

Congratulations! Your experience sounds a lot like mine so far. :toast: I got a Volt as well, and I have already "graduated" into buying some juice & filling cartos. Also trying to get my husband on the bandwagon (bought him a couple of Volt batteries & his own USB charger). He is not taking to it as quickly as I did, but I think he'll get there.

Let's keep it up together!!

Congrats, its a joy to see someone get over the smoking kick quickly.I carried a pack of smokes for almost a month after quitting as a safety blanket. In the first few of quitting weeks I used the smokes as the pv broke on me(user error) but that was a long time back and the new products are a lot better.Way to go.

Welcome to ECF and congratulations on your transition to vaping.

I worry about my weight as well but I found a solution to it. I'm a sweet stuff lover, has always been hard to resist my favorite things like pie, cake, cheesecake, cinnamon rolls etc.

I counter that by vaping dessert juices. I make my own these days and for the last half hour I've been vaping between pecan cheesecake and espresso. I've been vaping since 24 Feb 2011 and have gained not a pound. It can be done ;)

Cynthia, I second what Fiamma said. Try to change your mindset and instead of thinking it might be detrimental to your weight loss, think of it as a tool to help. I can't eat gluten so I supplement things I can't eat with vapes, such as French toast with syrup and sweet cake batter. If bacon is your weakness, they have that too... Though I've never been able to bring myself to try that one. Luckily, my diet doesn't exclude bacon. ;) The point is, it can be a tool to help, even more than analogs were.
