The paint on my kanger subtank mini kit began to chip, and the white paint on the mod didn't match the paint on the tank... So I sanded it and painted it. Had a hell of a time with the clear coat. Not bad for a first try. It was originally white. Any suggestions for next time?

Never considered nail polish. Will have to try that next time. Had a can of clear matte paint laying around from my hobby modeling, so it tried that. It was difficult to work with seeing how I kind of suck at spray painting lol.
LOL... I've had better luck with polish for the tiny items.

Looks really nice! Definitely use a clear coat (matte or regular) over your paint, because if you don't, the paint will end up in a disaster. A friend had a really hard time with painting his subbox because he didn't clear coat it and every time he painted it, the paint ended up getting dirty or falling of. He eventually used a clear matte finish over the paint and it looked really professional,
