i read, and read. ordered Penny clone, and Magma clone. both, per review, are very nice clones. i was waiting happily for them. but i kept reading.. there are Mutant X rda, kayfun lite plus v2, doge.. then there are endless list of mods.. i'm rather getting confused, and second guessing if my purchase was good, and if i need more toys.. i hate starting new things..

Ask yourself three questions.
1. Are you using it?
2. Is it keeping you off of the analogues? (If you smoked before vaping)
3. Are you happy with it?

If you can answer "Yes" to all three, then don't worry about anything else. This is not a competition and there is no need to keep up with the latest fashion/new thing.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
Keep the Magma , great choice and a favorite , unbeatable imo for taste . I like your Kayfun lite choice as well , the others not so much. Depends on your preferences , if you live for huge clouds i heard the Tobh and Plume Veil are great but if your main thing is purity of taste your pick of the Magma is the right choice.

The only other RDA that i love is the Veritas (it just so happens that is all i own ) so it's an easy choice .

Those are some very good gear purchases, I think you'll be happy with them.

I have to ask though, have you done your research on using a mech, battery safety, coil building? What batteries did you buy, do you have a digital multimeter, did you order wire for your RDA? What kind of wick are you planning to use?

There's always going to be new gear to look at and lust after, master what you have and then move on from there if you feel you need to.

i did read some. when i was around 6, i used to make radios and calculators for fun, so playing with electrical components aren't too foreign to me.

mechanical mods are basically a battery holders. with coil, resistor, in place, pressing button completes the circuit. battery is just a capacitor that holds the charge. the dangerous part is the current. i understand the ohms law. important part in this set up is not to over draw from the battery. if the coil doesn't provide enough resistance, it will over draw from the battery and possibly cause vent, and explosion.

i'll be shooting for around .7-.8 ohms. with this set up, battery with 20 A should handle the situation fine. Sony batteries are hard to find, but Samsung 25R seems to be readily available.

I still have few multimeters and just replaced batteries in them. know how to measure resistance for the coils, and how to check battery. not sure how to check voltage drop, but i'm sure i can find that out.

i'll be using 28g wires for coil, kanthal. cotton, i want to try japanese cotton, but they are hard to come by, so i'll use generic organic cotton ball for a while.

it's like anything else.. little reading helps alot :)

Blu disposable and Marlboro Ultra Light. once my set up come in, both will go into trash can forever, hopefully.

Well nothing wrong with going straight from a cigalike to 0.7 ohm 28 gauge on a dripper on a mech if you have the knowhow, but it's always usefull to have a regulated mod, especially when you start building.

My best advice is simple advice.

Purchase what you want. Once you make the purchase - LEARN Everything about it and how to make it work Perfectly(even junk can work well) Only then should you move to your next choice.

I am amazed at how many people buy item after item and just keep complaining, calling it junk/etc. and never learn the first thing about proper use.

By the way, The Magma is one absolutely awesome RDA when set up properly. Just received my second Magma yesterday and a nice Cheap 4Nine for it to ride on.:toast:

Good :) You are much better informed than most in your situation, just had to make sure. I can't tell you how many posts I've seen about someone getting their first mech and when asked about what batteries they'll be using they say something like "the kind that fit."
