So many questions Cant even figure out where to start.

I just started vaping 2 days ago and I am so confused by all the lingo and everything that goes along with vaping. My dad sent me a starter kit in the mail so that I would stop smoking since it was working for him I figured I would give it a shot. Im almost 29 years old and for the past 14 years I have been smoking a pack to a pack and a half a day. It is time to take my body back over and kick this habit. So far since I got the kit Friday Morning I havent smoked an actual cigarette (which is absolutely amazing) Nor have I really wanted one. It has been actually easier than I thought. But the thing is is I am so confused about all this I feel like it will overwhelm me too much and I dont want that to happen. I have so many questions that I dont know where to start. I dont live anywhere a vape shop is so I am hoping that this forum can help since I cant just go in and ask a real person in a shop.

First question is Will the coughing and choking from taking a hit ease up? I can take very small puffs now without choking but will this eventually get easier?
What is a good vape e-cig to have? i just got a starter kit my dad had mailed to me that is an eGo- t ce5 something or another.
Where can i get all the replacement parts online?

I guess for now we can just get these questions answered and go on from there. I hope someone can help me with these.

Here's something that will help you understand things better. home of the vapers table.com The choking and coughing could be due to a couple of things. Nic too high, propylene glycol too high (PG), and getting used to vaping. What PG/VG is the liquid you're using and nic strength? (VG = Vegetable glycerin)

The starter kit is good to start with. As far as parts go, you may want to consider Evod tanks. Kanger eVod Clearomizer | fully rebuildable bottom coil $5.99 They're not too expensive and the replacement coils work on many Kanger products.

I've been reading through the posts and most if not all confuse the hell out of me to be honest. I am just glad that there are people that are willing and patient enough to reply. The nic i use is 18 mG and Im not sure about the pg and vg in it. Is one better than the other? I was looking at some sites and the ejuices that i like or want to try freak me out because they all seem to ask the same question. what percentage of pg/vg is the one i want. and i dont know how to answer the question so I just close the page usually. Is one percent better than the other?

+1 on the Evod...great starter device.

I also agree that higher VG and lower nic levels will reduce the throat hit.

Some people have to "learn" the best way to draw on an ecig. From what I gather, the best way is to draw the vapor into your mouth, then inhale and in the process you cool the vapor and add more air. I find this easy because this is the way I always smoked, but I guess some people inhaled cigarettes differently.

Another option is to get a device like a Protank II (regular or mini) or a carto tank...something with a removable drip tip. Then you can use an extra long drip tip, and that will cool the vapor.

Also, keep hydrated...water, water, water...keeps the throat from getting dry.

That's it...that's all I got.

PG is going to give you more of a throat hit and VG more vapor production. You might try backing your nic down to 12mg/ml and try a 50/50 pg/vg mix. That might help your coughing some. It did me but your results may vary.

As far as patients goes, we'll stick with you as long as you need us to. We're here to help and help each other. :D

Yeah, that's something you will need to figure out...everyone is different. I use 65%pg...some use 100%vg. Just do lots of small samples until you find what you like. You can also get glycerin at Walmart (near the pharmacy next to the alcohol) and add a little to you current juice. That will dilute the flavor and lower the nic level.

im pretty new too, ive noticed right now the pg/vg thing doesnt bother me either way(my husband started a yr b4 me, so i get to *try*ie barrow his) i have some 18mg for day use and some 11mg for at night so i dont get shaky before bed or when im chain vaping. as far as what you want, you could try a few different blends just so you can see what you like. one of the vets should have alink in here somewhere that explains the differences

I agree with Simply red that a 50/50 mix is the best way to start. You'll get the best of both worlds. This will let you know what you are needing out of a vape (whether you need more throat hit [TH] or more vapor). The more pg, the more TH. The more vg, the more vapor. PG is also the flavor carrier, it carry's the flavor better in the juice. The only problem with PG is that it tends to cause some people allergies. This is why a 50/50 mix is ideal to start with and change it as needed from there.

When I vape I take the vapor in my mouth, hold it, inhale through my nose and then exhale through my nose. This gives me enough of a TH and all the flavor the juice has to offer. It may take some practice but it'll become second nature before too long. It'll save your lungs too. :)

You need to learn to vape just like you learned to smoke all those many years ago. You hold it in your mouth more and kind of ease it down then exhale through the nose for maximum nicotine uptake. Nicotine in a vapor form is more easily absorbed in the soft tissues of the mouth and nose and less so in the lungs. Think about how bad a cigarette would taste sometimes if it wasn't your brand. This is more than a different brand, it is a whole new way of uptake. You'll get use to it.

As far as a recomendo, you can't go wrong with he innokin MVP

I can certainly relate to your confusion. There is a lot of information on this board, for sure. When I first started, I decided to keep it simple for myself and save my poor brain for important issues like promoting World Peace, lol.:)

For example, I had no idea about pg/vg ratios, really. I went to the Mt. Baker Vapor juice website because lots of people recommended it, and the juice was very inexpensive. I saw that their "standard blend" was 80pg/20vg. So, I thought, Okay,I'll start with that. It asked about adding extra flavor shots. Again, I thought, I will just go with the regular juice, as is.

I ordered it, and it was good, so those were decisions I didn't have to make. That's what I order now, and it works well for me. I've found that nine times out of ten, the regular "whatever" is really okay, and I don't look to complicate stuff. Some people like to investigate and research and try lots and lots of things, and that's fine for them.

I have found in my long life so far, that I am perfectly capable of over thinking things, and getting myself into a state of near paralysis.

Buying juice and e cigarette gear is not a momentous decision like buying a house or getting married, so I try hard to just get on with it, and enjoy this new adventure!
