With so many different brands/makers of ejuice out there, how did you people find your favorite?? I mean I guess I could go around and buy a whole bunch of them, but that can rack up the $$ quickly. Not to mention possibly not liking some....or all, which would then just sit around. Who makes good sample packs with multiple different kinds of ejuice??

look for a vape shop in your area most will let you try a few puffs of the flavors they sell.
once you get an idea of what you like, picking new flavors is pretty easy as long as the brand specifies what favors are you used.
most brands will not give you and exact recipe but say something like "orange-mint" or "Kiwi-strawberry-banana" so the customer has an idea of what flavors to expect.

Many of the online companies have sample packs - three or five 10ml bottles for a small price. You can usually choose your flavors, nic strength, and PG/VG ratio, or they might have a standard or rotating batch of samples. I have a bunch. Great way to try flavors. Also fun to give away/trade if you don't care for them. Other companies will often include a bottle of something you didn't order that they think you might like.

I've spent time trying kinds at local shop, they end up tasting the same after a bit. One shop makes here own and I don't care for it, other place I've bought suicide bunny and bamskilicious from and like them both. Trying to find some sample kits from places

there are a few "e-juice of the month" clubs. GrimmGreen has reviewed a few of these clubs.
basically they charge a flat fee and each month you get at least a certain number of mL sent to your house.
some are pretty cool, others are not. so before you sign up for one read the reviews.
most of them offer a range of popular flavors / leading brands.

Nick Green (grimm green) reviewed one not too long ago that looked awesome you got to pick your flavors to some degree. for example if you hate tobacco flavors you can set it up so they never send you tobacco flavors.

i will see if i can find it.

ELiquidSamples has 1 ml samples from different vendors for a reasonable price. Good customer service, fast and reasonable shipping. The 1 ml is just enough to load in a tank or carto and see if you like the flavor. We tried a few from Virgin Vapors through ELiquidSamples, and 3 out of the 6 are going on our list to order regular size bottles.
I would also check out the ECF pages for vendors that you might be interested in trying. From what I have seen, you will get honest opinions from real customers. It might also help "flesh out" some vague flavor descriptions, like "Caribbean Delight", which do not really tell you what flavors are actually in the darn thing.
Personally, my daughter and I have also ordered from Vapor Bomb, Mt. Baker Vapor, and The Vapor Room. We have enjoyed most of the eliquids we have gotten from Vapor Bomb and Mt. Baker Vapor. We have not tried much from The Vapor Room, but we enjoyed the Strawberry Cheesecake. I really liked their Horchata.

The way I see it, ultimately DIY is the only way to go in the long term.

Just look at Coca Cola; after I dunno how many decades of Coca Cola, they decided to change their recipe.... when was that I think it was back in the nineties? Then oopps! they suddenly realised they had to bring back the old one so now it's supposedly called Coca Cola Classic.

So I have no confidence the manufacturers will maintain a standard recipe; they might just change recipe on you and chances are they'll do it gradually

I would but you haven't sent me my weekly allowance :(

Haha, I'll get right on that.
You're best bet would be to head to a local B&M (if possible) and sample from their bar. Other than that, there's several sites that offer an assortment of sample packs, im pretty sure Alice in vape land offers a few. Also, Niquid offers trial size 5ml bottles as well.

Haven't been doing this long enough to where I want to take it to the DIY juice. Probably stick to ordering some already made up for now. Later on I may try the DIY

Yep; but you don't need to go full DIY all at once.
I buy 24mg 100%PG and add glycerin. I eyeball it usually 3 glycerin to 1.
I'd order less mg nic, if it was costing me less.
