Anyway, it's time for a new one! But I need some help please...

First off, my first battery was the ego-C 650mah usb passthrough. I was first using those colorful ego clearomizers but upgraded to a bigger 3ml tabac bcc.

I ordered my ego-c upgrade (now 1000mah, woohoo!) but while I was going through my local supplier's website I noticed there were tanks. I'm looking at them but I can tell they won't be able to fit the ego-c. Is there a special adapter that I can fit on the battery first, then screw the tank on? For example, I'd like to get 3.5ml vapeonly bcc mega-clearomizer.

Thanks in advance!

Hi - you don't need an adaptor. Anything with eGo or 510 threading will fit on an eGo, regardless of whether it is a 650mAh, 1000mAh or Twist.

ETA: Did you get the eGo-C Upgrade that has two modes? I have one of those. I will wait to see if you post a response before I go into detail about this odd (and ultimately not very useful) feature, just in case you didn't get that kind.

And you still have a boyfriend?

I know, right... lol!

Thank you everyone for your responses, much appreciated

Ocelot: yes I got the upgrade, but the usb passthrough (not twist). I'm still a newb to all this, so I didn't steer very far from my original 650mah ego. Also this (the 650 ego) is what my friends are using, the ones who got me into vaping, so whatever they were using I was just copying. I saw another vaper that I kind of know from my circle of friends who uses a tank, so I was envious :glare: but anyways I didn't know that the tabac was the external thread kind (duhhh) so thank you again for this new information :D

Hold out for a Kanger ProTank - comes with adapter and extra head :)

Actually they are Tank Supports

It that what Kanger calls it? I didn't look closely at the box. It's basically a thread cover (albeit a more stylish one than the others you see around). It's purely cosmetic to make the Protank look more streamlined on eGo width batteries. Along the lines of these:

It also helps support the bigger tank on the smaller battery. That's a lot hanging off a 510 thread with nothing to support it. Especally if it happens to fall over or get dropped it helps protect the 510 threads.

Yep, you screw the support down install the Tank and if there is a bit of gap, you turn the support to snug up.

Wow, new information :) So does the thread cover/support only come with the Kanger tank? Or is it something I can order separately? I don't really see it in any of my local suppliers' sites.

It comes as part of the Kanger Protank kit, but you can buy them separately from lots of vendors. This is probably the most expensive I've seen them, but I got one of mine here because they have them in black: eGo Sleeve Cone - The Digital Cig

I didn't mean the Twist. The term "Upgrade" gets used for different things and I get confused when passthroughs are involved. There is an eGo-C Upgrade that has two different power modes; in one mode the button is white/blue, and in the other mode it's yellow. If it turns out you have one of those, let me know and I'll PM you the about the features. On the off-chance it comes with instructions, I'll buy you a virtual cup of coffee if you can figure it out.

Well I DID figure it out already, just by playing around with it :D The instructions were awful (sorry joyetech), but I like a good mystery so I fiddled with it and here's what I got so far.

From off > click x5 > blue light (3.3 voltage) > vape as usual
From blue light > click x5 > off.
From off > press for 5 secs > orange light (VV), or I guess yellow light in reality > vape as usual
The darker the colors, the more power the battery currently has

Brolaf: to be fair, we both hate pink, so he's buying me a spare battery (ego-v2, yay!) in case this ever happens again ;)

Yep, you got it!

Just for a bit of clarity:

The Upgrade is sometimes marketed as a variable voltage device, which it is - you just can't set it.

Unregulated (the button is yellow)
Regulated (the button is white/blue).

In the unregulated mode (Joyetech calls it "Battery Voltage" mode), the battery comes off the charger at around 4.2v and will fire at that output. The voltage then goes down as the battery discharges.

In the regulated mode, the battery fires constantly at 3.3v. I think it's pretty much a gimmick, or concept over function fail. The point of VV is to be able to adjust the volts to where you want them to be. This battery does not do that.

To make the voltage even less operator variable, in the regulated mode the button is white when fully charged, then turns darkening shades of blue as it discharges. In the unregulated mode the button stays yellow. If one is vaping in the unregulated mode, there is no way to tell what voltage you are (roughly) at without switching to the regulated mode and trying to guess if the button is cobalt or cornflower. I just use mine in the regulated mode like a standard eGo.

i have the bcc mega clearo. don't always have good success with the atty's. they tend to dry hits. out of the last 5- 3 attys didn't last me a day. when they do work they work ok. just my opinion here
