My personal opinion about dual coils is that:
- They perform better with mods that go above 3.7V
- The more coils you have, the less your battery will last (the main reason I don't use them that much)
- Last but not least, the risk of an incident (battery failure) is very much increased with dual coils, because you draw much more "mah" than with single coils.
=> I would only use dual coils (atomizers or cartomizers) with a PROTECTED VV mod, like the infinity pro in my case. I'll never try them at 6V in my Silver Bullet for example, I think it might really increase the risk of turning my favourite mod into a bombshell.
So, you can try them on an ego battery, but the best setup if you still want to use them at 3.7V would be a 1.25 ohms DC on an IMR battery. I use my 1.5 ohms DC on the infinty pro and it is great around 4.2-4.5 V.
Hope this helps.
edit: In your case, if you stick to your ego battery, I'd recommend:
- a bridgeless 1.5 ohms 901 atomizer with a 510 to 901 adapter and an empire drip shield (all these awesome things are available at empire mods)
- a single coil LR cartomizer for PG juices (the 1.7 ohms "renew" cartos seem to be a good pick, I'm currently using Boges)
- buy a 3.7V device with IMR batteries LOL
