So I just got some from FSUSA. I have to say they're a bit weird. Not bad..but... weird. All the threads I've been reading say that the flavors get better after a couple of weeks.

So... I guess it's best to not order juice 2 days before you're about to run out! Mayhaps all juice makers could take their most popular flavors and strengths and premake them and let them ripen for a couple weeks, then freeze them or something.

Honestly - I have never noticed any change in flavors as they age, whether i mixed them myself or bought them someplace else. I know many people say that flavors improve - but - I have never been able to taste the slightest difference between a flavor I mixed today and one I mixed three weeks ago using the same recipe. But, many others are able to detect differences with their e juice as it ages..

I totally agree with SimpleSins and Kushka. I have had juices that I didn't care for...let them age for several weeks\months and they still taste the same. I believe that each persons tastes are totally different from the next. There are certain companies that I LOVE, (e.g. Vapor Station). Their juices taste great from day one...I have left the lids off for several days\weeks and..they taste the same to me after the fact...great.

To be fair I have left certain juices age, (e.g. DEKANG), with the lids off to remove the "chemical" taste and it has worked 50% - 70% of the time but the base flavors\under notes remain the same. They never grow stronger or "blend."

I believe that FSUSA is a great company with excellent customer service but their juices are not for me. They have a large following but I, unfortunately, am not not one of them. :( I have "aged" their juices...let them sit for days without their caps on and I still do not care for the taste and\or flavorings. It's okay though as I have found other companies and juices that are my "Must Haves" I tried FSUSA during one of their great specials and have barely lost a thing. :)

So funny, because I have a bottle of Irish Cream from fsusa that i thought was nothing short of vile when I rec'd it. Now, however (about a month later) it's delicious and true to flavor. Sometimes I wonder if it's a weird taste-bud thing, sometimes I wonder if it's actually the time. Hard to tell.

What's definite, though, is that you don't have to like what the next or previous person liked - I don't care for vaporstation because I don't like what I suspect is their base tobacco flavor - I find that all of the juices in the 10bottle sampler I bought have the same underlying funky, perfume-y taste (even frost and amaretto-peach, which some people RAVE over) that is unpleasant and overwhelming to me. What I didn't do was review them, because I suspect it's not them, it's me - some people like pepsi, some like coke, yk?

Well, had I not watched several of my juices change colors over a week's time, I might not believe they change as they age. Perhaps color change isn't indicative of flavor change but I feel like I notice some fairly large flavor changes over that period of time.

It's especially noticeable in liquids with any dairy. What was once unvapable develops into something I can reasonably stand.

So, take it as you will. It could be a real or placebo effect. Perhaps my eyes are even playing tricks on me. Heck, make up your own mind. We all have opinions and the right to speak ours.

I had a different experience with one juice - "sinusoidal" for the lack of the better word.

The Banana Nut Bread tasted nothing like the name.
Couple weeks later it was like "Wow, this is it!"
And another couple weeks later the taste went to square one.

And yes - I always shake the bottle (even before each drip), use 3 ml smaller bottles for everyday use, the main bottle kept in dark and cool place.

Go figure that one.

Most the juices I use are great right out of the bottle, but I really do notice the taste becomes richer with age. One in particular the flavor was very light when I first recieved it and now, a week later it has a rich, full flavor. I don't think it is my tastebuds because I could taste the full flavor of my other juices the same day I tested that particular one and there was no taste difference from the previous day on those other juices.
So YES, I do believe that some juices "ripen" with age.

It must have something to do with different flavorings/sweeteners. In certain combinations/recipes, I'm sure the flavor takes time, possibly to mix more completely with the PG/VG. Others, as I have noticed with FSUSA's Cappuccino Smooth and Cinnamon Bun, the flavors are rich from the start, whereas others, especially the Virginia blend they offer, have a very dry, plain flavor at first but develop into a fuller flavor, even to the extent of having a tiny bit of sweetness.

Maybe some flavorings don't mix well and take time to blend more completely into the PG/VG mix. I've noticed that the lighter the liquid with FSUSA, the longer it needs steep time, whereas their darker liquids like Cappuccino, RY4, and Wyatt Earp, they are great right off the bat.

This could be also due to the taste buds themselves, or at least they play some part in this strange "steep time". It could be that the taste buds need time to adjust to the new liquid, or they get messed up with other flavors (like drinking orange juice after brushing your teeth) and causes the flavors in the e-juice to lose their magic. It's hard to say, especially when it comes to our taste buds. Person to person differences in taste buds can be dramatic, but our personalities also play a role in this. An "acquired taste" for one person can be a total horror for the next.

I have found that a couple of my Viking Vapor juices tasted better after allowing them to sit for a bit. But maybe it's just my tastebuds changing...

As for FSUSA...I would recommend that everyone purchase a bottle of their 'Butter' juice. I add it to flavors that don't have much complexity, and suddenly they're nice and smooth with that nice buttery finish. Sounds strange, but it's true. I don't think I'll purchase anything else from FSUSA than the Butter...not that I think they have bad juices, I just prefer more complex flavors.

I've actually gotten to the point that I just let everything sit for a week or two. Maybe it's all in my head, but to me flavors achieve more depth when they've been allowed to steep for a while. They may be good right when I get them, but they're even better after sitting for a little bit. That's been especially true for mango, hypnotic mist, peach, and almond joy.

I'm glad I read this thread before giving up on a few of my FSUSA samples! I was so eager to try my new flavors, and the Wyatt Earp, RY4, and Geoff's Blend did absolutely nothing for me flavorwise. I went out of town and decided to sample these flavors again to decide which ones I was going to throw/give away and OH BOY, I am so NOT giving these away. I intend to vape the heck out of these juices! The Wyatt Earp is such a fantastic tobacco leaf flavor that has so many layers of taste, and the RY4 is the best version of this tobacco flavor I've ever tasted! The Geoff's Blend is a yummy, spicy, complex, and mysterious blend of flavors. I think I detect clove and cinnamon, but there are so many more flavors that I can't pinpoint. I guess I'll just have to vape it until I figure it out (oh, darn lol).

My moral of the story is be patient and wait for customized and fresh juices to age for at least a week to get the best vaping from them; especially the tobacco flavors.
