I was a light smoker ~5/day, I vape a little more than that becuase I can now vape in the car on the ride home, as i don't need to try and keep myself from smelling like smoke for the kids and wife.

I have a 1000mah ego twist and love it
I have used Cartomizers, but I believe that a refillable replaceable head Clearomizer/Tank like the Vivi Nova Mini is a better option, less of a refilling hassle and easier to use / keep filled.
I have yet to come to a situation where I have run out of battery for the day (Or even 2)

if you are concerned about size you may want to go with the smaller 650mah Ego Twist.

Agreed!!!!!!!

Today's standart is eGo. I wouldn't buy a complete kit but rather an eGo Twist 1100 amp battery, a charger, and some sort of easy refilling tank such as the Mini Vivi Nova. You'll be well under 100 dollars and it'll take you from basics to more experimenting in the future.

Hi! Welcome.

I can tell you what I use - but that won't tell me anything about what you want. Can you tell us some more about your experience "borrowing" (lol) your other half's equipment? Any likes or dislikes about the size or look? Do you have any color in mind? (For some peeps that's important.) And if you can fill us in a bit about how much you are smoking that will give us a better idea for suggestions. Also, do you have any idea what brand/type setup he is using?

Congrats to both of you taking on this journey together.

Agreed, completely. the Ego twist is a great place to start, but before making any recomendations it always helps to know what you are using now and what you like / dislike about it.

I've been using the GoGo for 8 months now and would definitely recommend it. I feel this is an awesome setup because I can literally fill one carto grab a fresh battery and KNOW I'll be set for at least 24 hours. No charging, no refilling, the batteries typically go for 2 days of heavy use before they need recharging. The only downside is the threading is proprietary, but the cartomizers are so awesome it doesn't bother me in the least.

I would recommend an eGo twist starter kit, 2 650 mAh ego twists, charger, wall adapter, carry case and a couple of cheap clearomizers come in the kit. This is the kit I have been ordering for my new vaping friends for 50 bucks and they all have been very happy with it.

Add a box of standard resistance cartos and some juice and you are set.

Just my two cents: This is the kit I first got: Joye eGo Starter Kit | Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit | E Cig Kit at LiteCigUSA I think it was a great way to start (but shop around, prices can very quite a bit with vendors offering coupons and having sales; just remember to get a Joye, not a knock off.)

I think it was a good starting place, because it works fine on its own and quickly I added a drip tip for the atty it came with, then a LR306 for dripping, a couple of Stardusts and Vivi Mini Novas. I recently got a Twist, which everyone raves about, but to be honest, after only vaping for a couple of months, the vv hasn't made that much difference. With my current palate (which is limited due to many years of smoking), I've only found the Twist to enhance a couple of e-liquids. I'm sure it will make a difference in the future, but for me, the Twist is a bit of overkill right now. Also, having to mess around with figuring out voltage/ohm charts is a hassle - as I said this is just my experience (YMMV) ;)

I second the motion on the GoGo batteries and the Go carts Go-go Products

I also recommend the Volt X2 Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette Excellent equpment and lots of colors too!
The regular cig sized Volts are also very good...they are on the site too under the "Batteries" tab. You can get just anything you want to Smokeless Image...great company and about the best CS there is in the industry.

Another winner is the eGo....you can get a great kit here Complete Electronic Cigarette Kits And imho the best cartomizers for the eGo are the 1.7 ohm eGo Mega cartomizers. Sold on that site, but currently out of stock. They are also available at Madvapes Black 1.7 Ohm eGo Mega Short Cartomizer, Single Coil

Those are good choices for starting out. Worry about variable voltage like the eGo Twist or kGo VV later down the pike...once you get the hang of things and what ohm you like and all that. If you do decide to try the kGo Hoosier's has a good kit too, however...and a nice selection of cartomizers, too. KGO kit1100mAh by SLB (they also have the kGo variable volt model there too)

I also love this device...but it doesn't "look" like a cigarette...it's a mod (non variable volt). It's WONDERFUL...and versatile too, if you get the extension thingy to go with. Gripper This is the extension thing: Gripper 510 Extension They have a kit there for the Gripper...but it's kinda expensive. They also have the batteries there for it for a good price.

Anyway..the rest of my stuff I use the most is under the banner in my sig.....

Good luck and have fun!
