Ok let me try to explain a little better what I'm asking here.

I started vaping in earnest about a year ago, after trying a few of the "cigalike" varieties where you get battery power/tip glow from the draw. I went on to get the VV/V3, and a little later the MVP V2, and both are part of my regular rotation. Along with those I tote around anywhere from 4 to 6 iClear 16's, with accompanying juice for each, to give me a little variety during the day.

I did a brief foray into various kinds of toppers - protank mini (never liked the taste/feel from drawing on a metal tip), evods (was pretty happy with them until I had a consistent outbreak of leaky tanks), iclear 30 (same deal with the metal), tried the cartotanks (about 50% success rate on getting the carto to not taste like a donkey's ...), even jumped on that davide king deal that gotvapes had a while back (dear lord what a pain in the .... those were). Eventually I just went back to the good old 16s due to several factors including how cheap/ubiquitous they are, ease of changing coils (I used to wash and reuse, now I just toss and replace), easy to take apart and clean after a juice cycle (I usually go through around 30ml and two coils before I clean and change to a new juice), and they just kind of work...sort of. Still have issues where they'll occasionally leak, don't seal well at the tip, about a 10-15% doa rate on coils (and really who's going to try to deal with that exchange?), and inconsistent ohm readings even between uses.

So if you're still with me, where I'm headed with this is, from what I've observed so far in my year of vaping, this industry is constantly in flux - there are a ton of new products being introduced, changes, improvements, etc. I have absolutely no interest in getting into the DIY coils, dripping, cloud chasing, sub-ohming, what-have-you. Since this kind of stuff seems to dominate the "headlines" so to speak, I rarely hear about the quiet heroes of the trade that might be the next step up for a guy like me who doesn't want to be another guinea pig, spending half my time vaping and half my time tinkering.

TLDR: Just looking to see if anything has come along that is better than the iclear 16s but can still be found pretty much anywhere, has easy to replace heads that are readily available for purchase, and get the job done - and that I can buy a half dozen of for under, say $50.

More than likely I'll be back to ask the same question about batteries within the next six months or so, so if you have any frontrunners in that realm (under $50 as well), toss in a rec. Completely satisifed with both of the itaste products (well maybe a little threading issue starting to crop up), especially appreciate the longer battery life of the mvp. Being able to use the same micro usb charger as my phone is a huge plus too.

I just got back into vaping after a year of falling off the wagon and smoking again. A year ago, I tried several different setups and ultimetly settled on evods and protank. Some juice was better in one over the other. Anyway, now that I'm back I wanted to know the latest as well. Since then I was recommended the Nautilus mini as the tank and couldn't be happier, I use the primary juice in it. For battery, the iStick is my recommendation...It's like my original VV passthrough battery on steroids. Also, they aren't for everyone but I am really loving the eGrip. It is a tank and battery all in one. It has an amazing form factor, and it holds one of my main juices. Both coils are easy to replace, but not rebuild.

New MVP V3 should be out soon... not sure about the price point on it though...
Aspire has several good atomizers out that use replaceable coil heads (Nautilus, Nautilus Mini)... not gonna get a 1/2 dozen of the atomizers for less than $50, but the heads are pretty inexpensive...
Not really sure what else to recommend... like TJ said, if what you got is working for you and you're not really looking to tinker, then why bother...

Yeah I guess I'm getting a lot of "if you're happy why change?" Like I said in the OP, the iclear16 is doing fine for me but it is not without it's faults. I just wanted to see if there's been a "tweaked" version of it out there under another name, or if there's something that's really done well in that caliper of tank that I should try. I've been seeing a lot of good chatter about the nautilus (including here in this thread), perhaps its time to grab one and check it out. I guess I need to put into perspective what I'm getting in a tank that I can buy 6 of, use for several months and then replace, all for the same cost of one of these higher end units.

I'm probably just on the cusp of getting bored with my setup and needing to shake things up a bit. It just can be a bit frustrating and disheartening to keep sinking $30+ on a single tank that ends up in the bottom of my drawer after a few weeks. I may look into the non-metal tip replacements for some of my existing tanks, thanks for that tip sunshinepete.

Cigarettes are so easy, and Big Tobacco wants it that way for the laziness in all of us. Look what McDonalds did with the hamburger. The same every time, everywhere that you buy them. No choices.

Vaping needs a bit of tinkering, but, it is in no way boring like cigarettes. Not only am I grateful for it rescuing me, but I get to choose flavors, make flavors, have big clouds or small clouds or be stylish with my hardware. There are so many options to consider.

I embrace it and change occurred overnight.

I am beyond grateful for the turn I've been able to take away from the cigs. Thanks for that perspective shift.
