So who here has duplicate color / color combo ProVarii?

As much as I like my black & my bronze, I don't think I'll be getting a 2nd one of either, regardless of the LED color.. At least not until either is ready for a replacement for whatever reason..


Satin silver, however, is a different story.. I could see myself getting a 2nd full-size right now, if the wallet permitted, though this time with a blue LED.. (Hopefully that combo will be available for the P3..)

Maybe because it's just a few days old, but satin silver is my favorite color body of the 3 at the moment.. Not sure what it is, but it's a really nice one, IMO..


Any of you have twins? Or even triplets? Whether just body color or even color combo? A full-size & Mini are also acceptable..

Also: Pics of just those together, perhaps with the LEDs lit up?

2 Polished/Blues. My standard was my 2nd one (satin black was 1st, only one I don't have anymore) but then I went to all minis. My last one was a mini polished/blue with the intent to sell the full sized. I put it up briefly, no bites, not sure if I'm going to put it back up again or not. I wouldn't have twins if it weren't for going all minis.

I don't think I'd buy any of the colors, as much as I like to Ohh and Ahh over the Provorn piccies.

When I bought my first I spent alot of time thinking about this, looking at the pictures.

The satin silver is just right. Looks best with the top and bottom cap. Not too flashy. Very durable. It's the way to go imo.

I did splurge on a collectors cap, an extra black extension, and an extra black trim ring though. Oh, and a couple of Tatroe rings and a Tatroe wide base cap.

The Dragons are the only one I'd have a hard time turning down if I walked into a shop and they had one.

But I don't walk into shops, so; that's that.

Next will likely be a satin/red. Or a gunmetal. Or a P3...

I started with a polished standard/blue LED. Added an identical polished/blue Mini. Found I prefer the battery life of an 18650, so added a Tatroe tube to the Mini. Figured I needed one for work, so got a silver Mini/red LED with another Tatroe tube during the 4th of July sale. Have a standard Dragon/(forgot to ask about the LED) showing up in the mail tomorrow (sworn to secrecy on the source).

So all 4 are stainless (3 polished and 1 bead blasted). Guess I'm just not a paint person.

But a silver/red standard, and a matching Dragon Mini would complete my collection of all the stainless varients. Then I could use a different one every day of the week! Well, I'd cheat and use my Nemesis on Sunday, because I'm usually close to the charger.

You know, I don't use my mechs much anymore. The only reason to use them would be sub-ohming and I don't do that. So, they've been languishing. I only have a couple, one cheap, one fairly nice. I'd only use them, at this point, if I put together a 1ohm or lower coil inadvertently.

My other one is a Stealth... but I don't have 2 of those... although I strongly considered it.

I had the satin black (only one I no longer have), I currently have the 2 polished & 1 Stealth. Not sure if I'll get any more, but if so, it'd be the Gun Metal for the Zencoat. I dislike gold.

Honestly, if they didn't offer Zencoat, my next would be another Stealth, no questions asked. The durability of the regular finish is crap compared to the Stealth.

Not saying it doesn't happen, and perhaps because I believe satin black is pretty popular, so the odds are increased.. But when you see a photo of a pretty beat-up / worn one, oftentimes it's satin black.. Where are all the pics of the beat-up other colors?

I wonder if it's a somewhat weaker finish.. And/or maybe those who own a black satin are more likely to be rougher with their PV?


Anyway, my bronze is not the same cerakote (aside from the different color).. It's a bit tougher & rougher feeling.. I could pretty easily differentiate between the two in a "blind-hold" test.. And it could just be an optical illusion, but it even looks thicker, judging by the indentations like the logo & crop circles..

Word has it that the bronze holds up pretty well over the long run, which given the above, sounds like it makes sense.. I guess I'll find out myself, someday..


I'm not sure how these two compare to other ones.. But I don't think non-Stealth cerakote colors are all exactly the same formulas, with differences not only in pigment, but perhaps in toughness & durability, as well...

I've seen just about every color with some significant wear to it, not just the blacks. I think you see more of the black ones in general - it's just a more popular color overall.

I've used my Stealth everyday for over 7 months, 12+ hours/day & I haven't been gentle at all with it. For about 3 months it was the only one I used even though I had at least 1 more Provari sitting on my desk. It's kissed concrete & tile, it's been through some serious daily use without being babied. You can't tell at all by looking at the finish. The only place it shows wear is a thin circle around the edge of the extended cap, most likely from going in & out of heavy-duty Carhartt pockets dozens of times every day. But through all that, the tube is pristine. Even around all the edges of the tear drops, it looks essentially brand new.

And I only have 7 presently...Polished, Satin Stainless, Metallic Bronze, Black, White, Green Metallic and Gunmetal.

Now I would like to have a red one, but back when they had them I wasn't into color much.
