Social smoker looking for suggestions

Hi, I only smoke 1 or 2 cigarettes every month when going out, I have never bought a pack in my life but now when at work or even at home I feel that urge to go outside and smoke a cig. To be honest cigarettes are great for when you need to wait for something or just want to kill some time, or even when you need to think about something. They make me less nervous or stressed. Sometimes I like to just stand outside during a hot summer night and I feel uncomfortable not doing anything like smoking a cig. I know it sounds silly but it's like you have no purpose being outside alone just looking around. The problem is I can't smoke normal cigarettes during the day because I hate the taste and I prefer not to because I know they're bad for your health. The smell they leave on you is also a turn off.

Then I've seen friends with eCigs and I was amazed. Not only could I get flavours like Cherry which is what I'm looking for, but the vapor was really smooth and you can just recharge the battery. So I was looking for a brand that offered a starting kit with at least a USB charger, an automatic battery and 5 cherry cartomizers. I'd like them to be 2-piece minis basically, as small as a normal cigarette with just the battery and the cartomizer. If possible, in black or resembling a real cigarette.

My concern is finding a cheap kit (20-50$) that has a solid build and from a trustworthy company. What can you suggest me?

I'm really not looking to smoke more than 2 cigarretes a week, but I understand that having an e-cig might make me smoke more often, do you think it will?

Hi.

If you are going to be using this that little you might want to get something really "rock bottom" in the realm of all the technology thats' available today. Something like this for $35.00 : https://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-510-nbx.htm

It's original Joytech stuff. That will get you two cigalike batteries in your choice of colors. You can pick if they are auto or manual too.

It will come with 5 carts that can either be pre-filled (nothing but a basic "tobacco" or "menthol") or you just get them empty and try buy some liquids of your choice. Cignot has a big selection of flavors available in small sample sizes. The cartridges are reusable and refillable.

Charger and everything else you need included.

This is "old school" basic technology. A "3 piece" system: battery, atomizer and cartridges. You can use standard resistance cartomizers with these batteries too. That combines the atomizer element inside the cartridges and reduces it to what is referred to as a "2 piece" setup.

This is one option. I bet you will be hearing many more.

P.S. Cignot is an excellent place with a great reputation on ECF. The owner, Vicki, is amazing.

I'd also suggest nic-free liquids if you're smoking socially, I did the same thing for a good while, especially on long midnight walks talking on the phone, and of course found I liked the nicotine..so now I vape nicotine juices. Not saying I'm addicted, I've gone cold-turkey over the summer before and never had a craving, but if you're not at the point where you want the nic, just something to do with your hands like I did, go nicotine-free from the start.

Pity you're in the UK or I'd send you a couple 808 batteries and some blank cartos, just supply liquid and you'd be all set. It's inconspicuous and easy to use, just like a cig without the need to carry a lighter. The 510 kits are good too, but didn't last long enough between recharges for my tastes, granted I'm a heavy vaper now so YMMV, get a few more posts in (need to have 5) and you can post in the UK sub forum and ask after vendors there.

Although this kit is at the higher end of your price range, Halo is a well respected company with great products. This kit gives you choices of colors, auto or manual batts and flavors.

I just started vaping g6 this week. I would definitely recommend this to light smokers. Very easy to use. I recommend the automatics.

I can't believe I'm saying this here, but honestly, if you smoke that little...just smoke. You're not going to kill yourself or throw all your money away if you smoke less than a pack per month. And since it takes several months of regular smoking to become an addict, you have nothing to worry about. If you go that long between cigarettes, they're not doing any real damage to you. Your body has plenty of time to recover after each one. Cancer, heart disease, emphysema, and all the other smoking-related diseases are caused by cumulative, long-term use. There's a difference between craving and NEEDING to smoke. If you don't NEED it, you're okay.

Thank you Rickajho
Dog bummit!!!!!, that took a lot out of me, it's almost against my religion to promote anything 'below*' an eGo at least

I need to lie down-in a darkened room :censored:

I feel your pain! lol I timidly put forth that Joyetech 510 kit, knowing it would get "snobbered" all over by "those who know better." But really, this is someone who says they only socially smoke once or twice a month! This is a case where suggesting even a single eGo with a 3.5 ml clearo would be overkill.

One of the most vexing things in the newbie arena is someone comes in saying "I want this" and what the person asked about gets ignored/bowled over/run aground from people who just don't listen. Suggesting better or different - sure. But ignoring what someone says they need or want out of the experience... drives me bonkers.

I hear what you are saying, but I respectfully disagree. The OP is looking for an experience. And that experience occasionally involved a smoke. Still wants the experience - but without all the things he rightfully cited - like the smell of cigarette smoke getting into clothes and what not. Vaping, as an "excuse" to get out of the house instead of smoking? Why not!

While I would generally agree with you on that, nicotine is highly addictive for most, even in small doses. If the OP were to go from, say, one or two cigarettes every few weeks, to one a night, they're going to get hooked 99% of the time. I think a simple 510/808-style cigalike with refillable cartos and 0mg nicotine is better in the long run, and will still work out cheaper, as even at one cigarette's worth of puffs in a night, or more, a 30ml bottle of juice should last the better part of a month, maybe even longer, I know I could burn two cartos (1ml/ea) in a night, but I'm a heavy vaper..so if they're really only taking a few drags here and there, a 30ml could last up to three or four months in a proper glass bottle. Also DIYing nic-free juices is incredibly easy, as much as I shouldn't say it for risk of being yelled at, I'm helping a friend of mine get into zero-nic vaping to satisfy an oral fixation similar to my own, and she's already able to DIY pretty good mixes that even I enjoy after only a day or two, I just split her bottles and add nicotine to half for myself.

I think the Joye 'notbox' looks to be a great little starter kit, and Joye-nuff said
I read the OP twice and was at first tempted to suggest the eGo/clearo combo-(my goto suggestion to all noobs)
But hey, our suggestions both fit his criteria , aaaaaand it's his money :D

so props backatcha Rickajho :toast:
