Soda Flavors

I got a couple of soda flavors recently - Vanilla Cola & Mountain Dew. I was really disapointed with both. They have a real sharp, bitey kind of flavor to them almost like they were trying to capture the feeling of the carbonation or something. This kind of works with the citrus flavor of the mountain dew, but it's REALLY out of place on what I expected to be a super smooth vape from the vanilla cola, and overall I find the feel of both pretty unpleasant because of it.

So now I'm wondering if they're even worth exploring. Is that a common thing with soda flavors or could it be particular to this one vendor? Can anyone suggest similar flavors that might not have that taste?

Thanks in advance! :vapor:

I was unclear whether you had soda flavoring, or soda flavored pre-mixed e-juice. I assume the latter, but just in case:

Flavoring: Some is very concentrated and too much will taste like crap. I had that with mountain dew flavor.

e-jucie: pre-mixed or your flavor added DIY: Let is steep. Try a hot water bath (cap on) too.

pre-mixed aged and still bad: switch vendors.

Atty I'm getting pre-mixed ejuices from them. Most have been great, but both of these have that weird bite to it that I just can't get past. I just can't tell if it's something thats supposed to be in them that just isn't my thing, in which case I might as well just avoid soda pop flavors for good, or whether some exist that are just flavored to match without that trying to capture the crispiness of the carbonation?

But I will go try the hot water bath and see what happens with that. Thanks for the tip! :)

Believe it or not, I got some cherry cola concentrate from madvapes for DIY and it's not bad. They to mix it at 30% which seemed like a lot but, it does taste like a cherry coke. Not an all day vape but, a nice change. You might see if you can find some pre-mixed there. Madvapes doesn't have a big juice selection but, they have good prices on what they have.

I've tried various soda flavors, root beer, cola, cherry cola etc, and all have been disappointing.
Then I thought about it and we often describe getting a "nice WARM vapor" which would be
the exact opposite of a "nice COLD soda". Decided to stick to other flavors. :)

I stick to flavors I think would be good warm or at least at room temp, my DIY and
pre-mixed purchases have been much more successful. YMMV

The FlavourArt "Cola" from Madvapes tastes a lot like RC Cola or Pepsi, quite good... haven't found a "Coke" clone yet, but I'm still searching :) And DK "Pepper" really is pretty good, if you're a Dr. Pepper fan. The one sample of a Mt. Dew (can't remember where I got it from, I think it was DK though) was pretty disgusting, as was a freebie sample I got once of "Lemon Lime Soda".

Well... depends on how "picky" you are about e-juice.... but if you don't find one you like, why not just order the flavorings and DIY your own without the "fizzy-ick" stuff? I'm pretty sure those soda flavors exist as flavorings.

And... I have some Grape Juice flavoring I just purchased that tastes like 90% of the "grape" flavored things on the market (lol). It's good BTW... not too sweet, with a bit of sour aftertaste. After vaping it for a day I was "graped out" and switched to RY4. But... hey DIY saves $$ too.
