I thought I would post this to get some educated feedback. This is apparently a brand new device from china that I personally have not seen offered yet.

The heart of the package is a 1300mah battery pack with a mini-usb input plug for charging and a full size usb output plug, It also has a solar cell built into the pack for solar recharging. It also comes with an ac power adapter and possibly a cig lighter plug for the car for recharging. I am unsure of the solar cell specs, but battery output is 3.7v at 1.2A.

It also comes with an ecig, either a 510 or a 510 clone (probably a clone). I'm not sure if it comes with the pass-through (I don't think it does, looks like the 510 clone battery charges via mini usb? See image), but here's the manufacturers list of included parts:

Solar 510 standard kit includes:
solar carrying casing(SCC) 1 pc
solar battery 1 pc
solar atomizer 1 pc
solar Cartridge 5 pcs
solar USB cable plug 2 pcs
solar USB wall plug 1 pc
solar Instruction Manual 1 pc

Solar 510 Detailed Specification:
Total length: 124mm
Battery Power: 180mAh
Battery can continuous smoke for puffs: 180-200puffs
Certificates Available: CE, RoHs, FCC

I am ordering a few samples to evaluate the overall build quality and check out the included ecig. I am dying to hear some user feedback on their thoughts of this device.

While at first glance I would prefer more mah, 5V an ~1.5A it would take a larger solar cell to charge such a device. I can see this sitting on a car dashboard or windowsill during the day, even velcroed to a backpack while hiking. This thing can run a pass-through (at 3.7v, while solar charging) or charge a phone, ipod, pcc etc.

I can see retail pricing being roughly $35 for the kit. I can place a larger sample order if there is interest.

I asked a ton of questions - I should hear back tonight about the solar panel composition and rating, estimated charge times, water resistance. My guess is that a dead battery will take a while to fully recharge from the solar panel again, but this is just a guess. However, a mostly charged battery might maintain nicely when using a pass through in the presence of sunlight.

I intend to put it through the wringer before I formally offer it, it's only right. I want to be able to stand behind the offering. I will post whatever my chinese hookups have to say about it, but you never really know until you're using it. I could ask "is it water resistant" and they could tell me "sure it's water resistant" - but I'd still want to see how it does after 1 minute then 5 minutes direct blast in the shower, then submersion. I will probably destroy a unit or 2 to answer this particular question, and there are many more questions too.

I'm still quite interested in all feedback though. Let me know which questions I am overlooking...

I got a few more specs, and honestly it sounds good to me.

It's a polycrystaline silicone panel with li-ion battery putting out 5V with a 6-month warranty.

It weighs 110g or just under 4oz. dimensions are 120x73x10mm, nice and trim. I'm liking what I'm seeing, if the 510 it comes with is not from Joyetech then it looks like a REAL close match.

I was poking around at harbor freight tools last night (bought a new multi-meter that tests not only voltage and current but temperature, humidity, light level, audio DB as well) and I read the specs on their smallest solar charger. They claim theirs will fully charge 2 AA batteries in 4-6 hours.

My sample order is placed and I will have sufficient units to perform my own tests and offer them to folks here at $35 per unit shipping included to the continental USA in about a weeks time.

Interesting info...

The ecig that comes with the solar 510 is a a Joye 510 compatible BUT It has a mini usb port on the tip that acts as both a USB charger AND pass-through!

I have 50 sample units coming and when they arrive I will truly be the first person in North America to touch one of these.

I certainly hope the performance is comparable to a Joye 510 - I would imagine it is. I believe it can take a Joye atomizer, but again, I will confirm this upon receipt.
