Reo mini 2.1 is not a 18350 mod, correct? thanks.

18490 or 18500. Don't tell anyone - a 14500 will even work in there in a pinch. Technically, it's sold for 18490's but there is plenty of room to fit '500 length batteries. It's not like you are going to mash the spring or hurt yourself getting them in.

so, newb question: With a bottom feeder like this, what kind of atomizer do you use?

Or rather (after reading through the site), how does it work? It says to squeeze the juice from the tank... confused lol

That's what you do. It feeds the liquid from a bottle/tube inside the Reo through the center post of the 510 connector. You need to used unsealed devices with it - that would include most stock 510/306 attys and cartos that have a hole in the center of the 510 positive connector. Usable RBA's have to be specifically designed with a drilled center post in order to work with the feed system. The list/discussion regarding which RDA's will work with a Reo is here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/377836-reo-compatible-rbas.html

It's a great setup if you like RDA's because it eliminates all the hassle of dripping. You just give a squeeze through the feed hole in the Reo and... done. Also minimizes "cooking" liquid in an RDA because there is no standing pool of liquid in the bottom of the RDA. Excess liquid gets pulled back down into the bottle when you feed it. It takes very little to figure it out and once you do you aren't looking at anything when you feed a Reo. (Called blind squonking.) So for travel - like in the car - it makes an RDA actually doable.

Only down side? You are limited as to which RDA's are designed to work with a bottom feeder. But those that do work very well. It's all about the deck/ease of building coils, size of air chamber and air flow. Any matters of how much you drip before the RDA floods or how many drops the RDA can hold are eliminated.

I like the look of them for a box-device, and the solid aluminum seems quite legit. Occupies some middle ground between a tank RBA and an RDA.

Something for the wish list.

Extremely legit. :D There is something about it that looks kinda blocky and fugly - until you actually get one and hold it. Then the love affair begins. Pretty much indestructible and completely rebuildable. You can sub ohm a Reo now, but retrofit kits are coming out that push the sub ohm limit even lower. New springs, new switch contacts, more heat resistant fire button.

They do show up in the classifieds on occasion - something to consider. But Reos hold their value so you seldom see them in the classifieds at more than a 20% discount off retail. And when they do show up they sell fast. If you are interested you need to go through the verification process before you have access to the classifieds: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/site-feedback-help/305495-verified-member-explained-more-detail-faq-included.html
