Is the anodized coating prone to easy chipping and scratching anyone?

The anodized is not a painted surface. It goes into the aluminum. So you do not get chips. It can get scratches and wear though.

I have anodized that are a few years old. They hold up really well.

If you want less prone to show scratches consider the Tumbled Raw. No finish to chip or wear, and scratches are hardly visible.

I have a black anodized SL Grand that I have had for a couple months now. It has been everywhere ... On the bike, in my pocket, in the car, at work, everywhere. It shows less wear than my Black Wrinkle. The wrinkle shows wear on the bottom corners (the aluminum is showing through), as well as wear from the fingers and thumb. The finger and thumb wear is from the wrinkle being worn off with usage. (The wrinkle is over a year old, and was my ONLY mod for about 9 months or so.) So, from my own experience, the anodized coating is more durable than the wrinkle. YMMV

Is there not a polished aluminum and a tumbled? Or is it the same one just with polish?

Robert doesn't sell the Polished. Those you might have seen are done by owners.

You can strip paint and polish but it is a lot of work. The Tumbled is amazing just as it is too.
