Hello everyone. First off my apologies if this is posted in the wrong sub-forum.

I have been enjoying my Provari for a while now. At first the VV was amazing, but lately I have hardly been changing the voltage at all. Its either around 3.7 for an LR atty or up around 5.0 for a standard atty/carto.

I really really REALLY want to try a feeder mod. My problem is that I have no money. So my possible solution is to look for a trade. I'm really not sure on the relative value of one mod to another. Do you think I could trade the vari for something like a reo grand or an ali'i? Do you think this kind of trade is a good idea? I know that VV is the "bee's knees" but im getting really tired of dripping and I dont switch flavors constantly like I used to. Also, like I said above, I rarely switch the voltages anymore. Most mods seem to take different battery configurations to attain different voltages.

I guess I'm just looking for a little advice. I would love to have both my provari and one of the many awesome feeder mods but I just cant do that now. I fear that if I did trade I would regret giving up the variable voltage. What do you guys think?

Well, I have a suggestion. I know you said you have no money, but you might be assuming all bottom feeders are as expensive as those you mentioned. You can get in to a bottom feeder for thirty bucks to see if it's really for you.

If you discover you really like the juice box and want a "high end" bottom feeder, then you could consider trading your vari for a REO or similar.

I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but there are some big tank mods for very cheap. You can even make your own for very cheap! There are a lot of tutorials. Stormy's tank mod is a nice choice for about $12, if you don't have the time or inclination to make your own.

It's not quite a feeder mod, but it'll certainly last you a good long while compared to dripping! I hope you come to the right decision for you. :)

Six: I've looked at the Oldgoat mods before but I never did see that $30 deal. That sounds very appealing! I can use my same charger for the 14500 batts it uses. I'd be stuck with 3.7v but that would be just fine for an LR atty. I'm seriously going to consider this one. Thank you for that link! (I hope he still has that deal going, he hasn't stated anything otherwise in the thread)

Stillalive: I have looked at the tank mods a lot actually. I always wanted a MAP tank but never could get my hands on one. I like CE2 cartos ok but nothing beats dripping with an atty IMO. I have quite a few clearomizers that have been sitting unused since I just like dripping so much. I do hear that the tank mods work better (possibly more room so the wicks dont get pinched as much?) Ill look into the stormy tank, $12 is much more affordable than the MAP. Thank you for your suggestion!

So I've been doing a lot of reading and research. The more I read on the Reo the more I really really want one. I love the tips and tricks thread on the reo forum. I love hearing about how well thought out the reo really is. From the juice well, to the no leaking, working with cartomizers and how you can rotate the switch to lock it from firing. I WANT ONE BAD!

But, I did take Six's advice and I ordered an oldgoat mod the other day. the 3.7v bottom feeder for $30. $12 for 2x 14500 batts from madvapes and I'll be ready for bottom feed vaping for just over 40 bucks. Thats hard to beat! I'm hoping to get them by Friday or Saturday.

If this bottom feeding is amazing as I hope it will be you may see a provari for trade thread up next week. Do you think I could get a 1 to 1 trade on my provari for a reo grand?

The Reo is an excellent, excellent mod. It is far and away the best feeder mod available.

Your Provari is also an excellent mod, I have one of those too. But its worth more than the Reo. Best advice in the world is to keep your Provari and save up for a Reo, but if you can't do that it wouldn't be a bad trade. The Provari is on sale this week for $179, a new Reo Grand is about $140.

I suppose I could try and save up, it'll take some time though. I guess the thing that gets me is that I dont use many of the features of the provari anymore. I set it somewhere near 5 volts when im using my reg resistance stuff and somewhere near 3.7v with LR stuff. I love all the features of the vari, but the thought of not needing to carry a bottle of juice with me anymore sounds too good to be true.

Another thought in my head is that I dont really need 2 mods. In the last 2 months especially I've calmed down a lot on this hobby. I'm not ordering new stuff every 3 days (not like I can afford that anymore) and I've settled in on some of my favorite vendors and their wares. I've actually been vaping even less lately and its been nice. I feel like i dont NEED it anymore, but just when I want to take a time out and relax (unless im at home at my computer then its battery draining chan vaping sessions!)

I know many here on ECF sport several (some even dozens) of mods but that never really appealed to me. I like to have my one go-to device that does everything I need it to do. And of course a back up just in case. I still have my first eGo in my vape box for my backup.

Just like about everything in this hobby, you just gotta try it for yourself to see if its what you really want. I think a Reo will suit me much better. I hadn't even realized I paid that much for my vari, now that I think about it I paid like $193 and change shipped with 2 batts and a charger.

Hey everyone. I got my oldgoat feeder mod and LOVE it. I love how hassle free a feeder is! So I am going to go ahead and try and trade my Provari for a Reo Grand. I've never done an outright trade before so I was wondering if anyone could point me to some resources on how to protect myself (and the buyer). Possibly a sticky i missed somewhere or an article that has some advice and/or guidelines to follow. I appreciate any advice, thanks!

My advice would be to only trade with people with lots of positive feedback on the sticky.

Get their name address and phone number.

The first trade I made, we were both apprehensive so we talked on the phone. It turned out to be an hour long vaping conversation and we both felt better.

I would not do a trade with someone who joined yesterday and has 11 posts.

Very sound advice, thank you. I finally just figured out how to search the positive feedback thread lol! My trading prospect has 7 positive transactions that I found, so thats a good sign. Plus we've got some good dialoge going. I searched my own name and was pleased to see 5 positive posts! =D Talking on the phone can be a good thing as well. I dont think many scammers would want to talk to someone one the phone.
