Uhmmmmm...it raises MY opinion of their IQ by a few points!

This is why any celebs that may be on here are incognito...

Personally I think Sheen is a genius. He marketed his melt down like a pro, and put it up for the world to see. I think he gained more fans just because of how interesting and funny it was to watch. And his fans backed him. Very smart that. He is still getting work because of it. If he didn't popularize himself I belive that he would be getting less work because the risk would out way the benefit. But he made it clear that he still has the power to attract a large audience. Brilliant! And more power to him for switching to vape.

I think I'm going to take the opposite end of the fence on this one, Mariah. There is one thing about celebrities that 'normal' people don't have. Care to guess what that is? It's not super-human talents or good looks. No, it's something very ordinary.

They have a moment (or many) of their life immortalized on print/picture/audio, that many people like/enjoy. I'm sure that if I had a camera following me 24/7, they could pick out a few of those moments and I could be a celebrity too...but that sounds boring.

My point is that people treat them different all the time. And sometimes they would like to be treated as just another person.

You are right in the aspect that if anyone markets themselves right they too could have celebrity. But really how many people REALLY want that. This day and age makes it easy to just have a small taste by becoming a youtube star. I myself would LOVE to act. I can act. I just never got into it because of all the other poo that comes with it. I like my life private.

And they are. Some of them lead extraordinary lives. But I think there is something about all of us in one way or another that is "not normal"/ special/ extraordinary.

Well yeah, I guess they would have to. Makes sense to me. I mean, it kinda goes with the territory, but wouldn't you like to interact with people who just treat you "normal" for a change. I know I would. I grew up living really close to Hollywood. So I would see celebrities all the time. One of my friends even ended up having a short bout of fame. He was a one hit wonder. So I found out just how normal celebs are, and how crazy it is to act crazy around them. You should have seen the girls expressions when I talked to my friend in public... priceless. lol There are still some celebs that I would love to meet. But I wouldn't be GaGa.

Thank you. It wasn't planned for, but my girl and I have been off-and-on for like 7 years now, it was probably time that we settled down. I'm going to be 28 this month, so we're approaching the time that having screaming babies would lose some of it's appeal (haha).

And I think it's excellent. The celebs need to be out being seen with their PVs. It will help smooth the way for the rest of us. Not that I'm not out there in public too, but they get more public exposure than I do obviously.

as for the whole actors thing... don't know, never got into that 'wow' thing that so many people have with actors/musicians. i guess i always HAVE seen them as nothing more than regular people with extra money. i see my share of movies, and have plenty of actors/actresses that i like the styles/skills of, but couldn't tell you a single name of any of them, nor can i ever seem to put a face to a name for some reason.

then again i've always had this weird thing about names not mattering, i tend to remember what a face/person DOES, but could care less what name they go by.

the only exception to this rule has been Schwarzenegger for some reason can't forget the name or face.

one thing i will say, its good to know that you can make it in hollywood without any looks, it seems that the vast majority of female/male actors aren't someone i'd look at twice if passing on the street.
