I'll say something unpopular, but hey, it won't be the first time.
Drotz does have a point. GG/Imeo isn't the only one out there with "fanboys" or fangirls - come on, look at the people for Vapor King (*cough KR808D-1*), PureSmoker, you name it. *some* fanboys/girls from *any* vendor, take it a bit too far, and Sakkis/Imeo does go a bit "overboard" sometimes, perhaps feeding it a bit more with respect to GG.

Does he believe in his product? Yeah, I think he does. Does he piss some people off? Yeah, I think he does. :) Is it a good product? Yeah, I think it is and yes, I own one.

The GG is a battery tube, pure and simple. So is the Prodigy, the Protege, the BB, the SB, the NHaler, the Chuck, the Super-T stuff, and whatever someone builds tomorrow. So is the SD, even if it started life as a flashlight - it was still the first "big battery commercial mod" AFAIK, and actually looks pretty damned cool.

Now, I'm not saying that's *all* the GG is, but bear with me. The idea of someone "copying" a common sense idea...well, it's silly. Anyone remember the 'Amazon one click shopping patent' mess? That's a huge abuse of the patent system, and anyone in tech laughs at it (or cries) - we can't patent common sense. The one click shopping, as simple as it is, is still far more complicated than 'build a bigger battery for e-cigs.' Yet, some kind of egg this on at times - really, there are only so many ways to make a battery tube. Material, type of batteries, type of atomizers to accept, and the switch. We could say that Trog and Imeo both "copied" Ruyan, the patent holder of the e-cig, and the many since. If they didn't, then what did they do? Oh, they implemented the battery tube differently, and in some cases, enhanced the functionality or convenience. That is what distinguishes any item from it's counterparts, the implementation and the convenience.

Look at any item people buy - cell phones, blenders, coffee makers - what happens to them? A company comes out with a basic model, then enhances it. Every now and then a good idea comes along - a permanent filter, a built-in timer, a mechanical switch..most of these are nice, and convenient, but even then, there are different implementations of them that can still make two devices with the same features more or less appealing to consumers. None of those changes are revolutionary either, only some common sense and a very minor evolution of a device, even if quite convenient to have.

Do I think anyone going ballistic over any other battery tubes being a "copy" is going overboard, and should perhaps seek medication, a relaxing hobby, or buy some goldfish? Yeah, I kinda do. Perhaps they are in need of the other type of smoke, to relax. It's a normal ongoing evolution of a very simple device. DO you think a patent would be granted easily, considering prior art, for "a metal tube to hold batteries, with a switch supplying power"? Flashlight, anyone? :)

That doesn't mean there's no room for innovation, but let's be realistic, folks. Let the implementation of ideas speak for themselves. Imeo gets a little too 'passionate' at times, IMO, and it tends to feed some of the others..just like other vendors fanboys/fangirls. The GG is a nice device, and I like Imeo's ongoing changes, but before the AFS was "born," there were various home-made juice feeding systems, and nothing wrong with that - the beauty is in the implementation and sometimes refinement of common sense and common knowledge ideas. HV atties IMO is a different tactic to not having a preferred set of batteries able to output around 5v, nor a mechanical or perhaps reliable voltage regulator - Imeo likes mechanical solutions. It's not the only solution, or can we say that the HV atties "emulating" 5v vaping is instead then only a copy of the Prodigy? It's not - it's a different solution to the similar problem statement of wanting more vapor and throat hit, while have atties last longer than the standard ones do at 6-7+ vDC. It's a slight modification to a well known pre-existing item, the standard e-cig atomizer.

I could go on, but there's no point, really; people generally do what they want, regardless, or sometimes, those who really choose to not think on their own, allow others to do it for them, or believe everything they read a bit blindly.

There's a saying about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. People know who made the first e-cig commercial mods, who had the first mechanical device, the first commercial auto-feeding system, and others. It's a waste of time, energy and stress in pissing contests over a lot of these things, especially about devices that are relatively simple and common sense in nature. Enjoy whatever you like, and let others do the same. Relax, vape, or umm..smoke. :)

Ok, rant over. (for now? :D )

Most agreeable and sensible post I have read on ECF for a very long time. well put wegster

Wegster, it is very nice to come here and read a decent, no BS, balanced opinion with no hidden agenda. Huge thanks for that.

Yeah, I get the dodgy PMs too, I get called all sorts of "special" names on other forums as well. It's quite sad that people feel the need to do this stuff, but hey ho, whatever floats their boats, I guess.

Usually, the only time I get involved is to correct factual innacuracies or downright lies and misinformation or statements intended to discredit Imeo or any other honest manufacturer/supplier for that matter.

P.S. Common sense? Isn't that phrase just the definition of an oxymoron? ;)

P.P.S. I think this thread has served its purpose and I am really glad it didn't degenerate.

Closing it now. :)

GG is not a battery tube weg any more. It was the best battery holder earlier, it still is and far from the others but now its a complete e-cig with much more features than the "real e-cigs".

No one said something diferent. Trog is the father of the idea of course and to speak the truth I like trog much more than some "nice" supliers here. But we cant forget the swing that was made by GG and all its accesories. I will not mention them there, no reason for this.

You said something about patent. Its a long talk, but what about nhaler?

Of course we both Trog and I copied Ryan's idea!! We improved it and GG went more far than anyone else as you see.

Of course I get too passionate, I couldnt make anything if I wasnt!

Copy of prodigy is the HV atomizers idea? All people knew the problem and PS solved it with its way. I solve it giving the best solution with HV atomizers. But it was not a new idea. New idea is the mechanical device, its the "battery" that produse 6 volts from a single one 3,7 battery, its the mechanical button, its the mechanical adapters, its the mod that works with any kind of batteries, its that a mod stays straight so dripping is easy, its the idea of transforming it, its the 4 in 1 connector, its the locking liquid option, its the collect liquid tank, etc. Do you agree here?
No one asked for them, I just thought of them, so thats new ideas, not solving an existing problem that all people know.

I hope that you agree:):)
