This is kind of personal and gross, but there is no delicate way of putting it, so I will just be blunt. My pee reeks of nicotine.

Same here Starfire. Really can't describe what it is, but the first impression is that it's from vaping, LOL.

I don't eat asparagus.

I am definitely not dehydrated.

I don't take any vitamin supplements.

Urine itself may have a strongish smell, and maybe as a smoker your diminished sense of smell prevented you from getting to note this... And now you DO...
Maybe its just that...

There could also be something else going on. It is best to perhaps visit your doctor and get a urinalysis done to rule out kidney or bladder dysfunction.

First piss of the morning is stronger smelling because typically you don't "go" all through the night{some of us do!} so it isn't diluted yet from drinking liquids but once you quit smoking you will notice smells you never were able to before.:(
Nicotine does not have any smell at all.

I am primarily (pretty much only) a menthol smoker and started with Tonic Silver Leaf Menthol 32%, then went down to 16%

Right now I am smoking Ecopure menthol, 10 mg. So, I keep going down in nicotine strength and my pee still reeks of nicotine.

Not a huge issue at all, but could be embarrassing at a doctor's office or such. Has anyone else noticed this?

I think you mean 3.2% and 1.6%, not 32% and 16%. 32% would be 320mg/ml. But I digress.... I have noticed funny urine smell from asparagus and from coffee, but not from nicotine, not even when I smoked. Not sure what nicotine smells like, wasn't aware that it did. Of course asparagus pee doesn't smell like asparagus either. :2c:

I asked my urologist this same question last week at my bi-annual visit. He told me that the most common causes of pungent urine are coffee, soft drinks, and lack of hydration. He also reminded me that my sniffer is now working as it should...lol. He also noted a considerable drop in nicotine/continine levels in my urine.

Good to know!

Have read a couple threads mentioning that PG base may effect odor (PeeG). I have had similar experience but only first thing in the morning when I have slept 8hrs plus (not taken in any fluids/dehydrated). Seems to be a unique odor and not the normal Pee smell you might notice when using a public restroom.

LMAO btw. This thread is too funny.

LOL, I remember eating at a little cafe with my wife on one of the Vashon Islands off the coast of Washington. While we were eating the female cook had come out and was talking with one of her friends, explaining the virtues of dripping horse urine into her eyes and on her face. I guess it was some trendy SNAG (Sensitive New Age Geek) thing. We were finished with our meal at that point.

Seriously, the dehydration thing is something to watch for. I have rather dry skin to begin with. Sometimes my skin gets so dry now, the lotion jumps off my hand onto my face. Five minutes later, I can't tell I've used it. I'm getting ready to try some 100% VG juices. Don't know if that will help...

Yeah, she was dead serious! I'll pass.

"Always use fresh urine (fresh and warm) if drinking; although for the skin, use urine that has aged for several days...".

Gives new meaning to steeping your juice!

There are some weird hippies on the Vashon Islands. Not all the people, just some...

Very interesting thread and I thought the "farty" one was the best but guess this one takes it.

First, I've seen a horse pee from the freeway (about as close one gets usually living in L.A.) and collecting it would seem to be a chore! Second, since urine is waste it doesn't make sense to put it back into one's body. Not being a doctor and not ever having played one I could be wrong about that but not something I want to do.
