sometimes the battery doesn't actually charge.

Anyone else having this problem? I use a 510 with manual batteries, and mostly use my PCC to charge the batteries. But I noticed after it charges for the hour it needs and then I go to switch my dead battery with the one that was in the charger it's not actually charged, then I'm stuck with two dead batteries for an hour or so while it charges.

Not yet. I've got two types of 510s, and so far the only trouble I've had out of any of them was when I was cleaning them and messed up three of'em.

Thinking about what you said...it could be two things--the batteries OR the charger. My opinion...if it does that to all your batteries, then it is the charger........if it only does that to one of the batteries--it's the batteries.

Therefore, to make sure, mark the next batter that doesn't charge, and keep an eye on it--to see if it happens again.

I don't think an hour is enough time in a PCC, especially if the battery is near dead (e.g. it flashes when you push the button). The wall charger works faster.

Also, I've read that if the PCC itself isn't fully charged, and it's plugged in to the computer, it charges itself but doesn't charge the battery in it until after it's fully charged itself.

If you don't have a wall charger, I'd suggest getting one. It's a lot faster (although still, I don't know if it will take a battery from dead to fully charged in only an hour).

I have a wall charger but that doesn't help when I'm at work
it's both the batteries that does it and it's not everytime. Usually it's every few days one of the batteries shows it charges in the charger and then it's not actually charges. And I'm not saying the PCC actually charged it in an hour that's just what I'm guessing the amount of time was.
I use the wall charger at home and I haven't had the batteries do it yet. I also keep the PCC charged at all times, when possible.

yes , had this happen a few times this week. i figured out what it was for my instance.
my charger was nasty. it had some residue from juices in it from the batteries.. cleaned it out with a slightly moist paper towel with some alcohol. and now its good.
but im having a problem with the full battery not turning on with the button press after the charge :( . i have to plug it back in and wait for the light to blink then take it off again. (i think the chip inside isn't registering that its off the charger right away). incase this happens to you

I have a similar fault with mine it takes forever to charge the cigarette batteries! The light will eventually go out but it takes a long time! I can then put it into the mains charger and it still has a little way to go for the red light to go green!

It also discharges its own battery and the red light comes on after a few days of not even using it! Its new and I was hoping it would mean I had to carry my Kensington or GG less.
