Hey all! Ive been vaping for 9 months now, and I have a lot of kanger tanks. No matter what battery I use, the juice I vape seems to end up burnt before I feel like the atty is truly ready to be replaced. For example, my current setup is an itaste vv and aerotank with 2.2 ohm single coil atty. Ive had the new head in for a week and I can already smell/taste burning. I use a chart to determine a range of voltage settings I don't really stray from on my itaste... what could I be doing better to prevent this unpleasantness? Thanks guys :D

Welcome dmilli91 to ECF. As stated above try cleaning your coil. Let it soak in Everclear, Vodka or Water....when using alcohol always rinse your coil and then let it dry.

1 week without cleaning a Protank coil is pretty long to go on vaping with.

Also you could always try to do a dry burn - many Youtube videos on how to do this.

Good Luck to You!!!

I usually kept my voltage set pretty low on my itaste vv v3 with my kanger tanks...not much higher than 3.5 most of the time. I use clear fruity juices usually. Lasted about half of a week. My itaste v3 went to the graveyard after 28 days of life, and I never even dropped it. My vision spinners (1 & 2) have held up much better and I run the voltage closer to 3.8 with smoktech tumblers, and I get more life and more vapor than I ever did with kanger evods (genuine) with the exact same juices. I told this to my friendly and knowledgable vape mentor, who agreed with me and said his story was the same. I'm not an expert by any means, this was just my personal experience. But he, like me, uses smoktech now for his on-the-go tanks. Good luck! Try dry burning, like other have said. It does extend the life of the coils.

Depending on your frequency of vaping, a week is a reasonable lifetime for a coil in the protanks. Vaping at a lower voltage, around 3.7ish and cleaning as suggested by others is a good way to prolong the lifetime of your coils; however, I would not recommend dryburning your coils on the protank as it is very easy to melt the rubber insulator which will ruin your coil. Another suggestion is to try rebuilding your coils once they start tasting burnt.

I faced the same problem when I first started vaping.

Dry-burning helped, I personally did not find much difference between using everclear, vodka etc. or just running the coil under water.

What was really a game changer was replacing the wicks on the coils. Its fairly easy to do with the kanger single coils. I use cotton, I re-wick quite regularly, as soon as I made this one change, the vapor production increased, so did the flavor and coils started lasting much longer.
